My first student
« on: September 27, 2006, 02:29:18 pm »
I wasn't sure whether to post this in Living With or Off Topic, but after everything I've been through as part of living with hiv to finally reach this happy point in my life - for background see: http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=3599.0 - I thought it belonged more here.

So...I taught my first private lesson today with my first student.

She's an 18 year old girl, wanting to take her Greek Kratikos (English state exam) in November and she also wants to resit Michigan ECCE next May/June. We're going to be doing 4 hours a week together...and the first 2 flew by in no time!

It felt so right to be teaching again! :)
I was a bit jittery yesterday at the prospect of starting today - last minute nerves and all - but once we started, I felt like a duck taking to water again.

And even more important, she enjoyed it too...she was very enthusiastic and very pleased with how the lesson went...which was nice to know! AND she may have found me another student, so watch this space on that...

Anyway, you guys & gals have been so supportive throughout my whole saga here, I just wanted to share my good news with you.

Am feeling good!

One happy Melia :)
