ouch! I had to stop that rather quickly.
Someone did that girl a disservice by letting her practice and sing it that way, along with not actually critiquing her properly to make her a better singer. I agree with one of the comments: the anthem is a song with a specific key and tempo and really should be sung that way.

While waiting to have an EMG test done today, I caught The View ladies discussing this girl.  They were a tad harsh.  I mean, she's 11.  I've heard worse and forgetting the words.  It is a hard song to sing.

But, this reminded me of a very funny SNL sketch, where Maya Rudolph plays a contest winner and gets to sing at a baseball game.  It very much mirrors how this young girl sang the song.  Very funny.  Oh, and she says "Ram Rods."

I don't blame the girl. She is only 11 and not everyone has talent. However, I do blame the adults that she auditioned for, or that arranged this for her, or that have been making her believe she had enough talent to handle this song. Those people didn't protect her properly but set her up, unintentionally I'm sure, to be ridiculed.

So baseball gets the A-list singers, then football, then basketball... and here is what is left when you get down to soccer.

Yes, I agree with you. She was in an incredibly humiliating position.
