You know, I have never thought about it that way before, when seeing these ads.  Flash back even just 10 years ago, and the companies wouldn't figure it made business sense (as far as they are concerned) to advertise on this site.  I suppose that does mean they get it, that with today's meds, we'll be around long enough to be longtime consumers.  Get us in debt and we'll be paying interest long into our old age.

I believe Tim Horn has stated that those advertisements are "google generated" meaning they relate to each member's web traffic. They aren't placed here directly by such-and-such banking, insurance, etc. industry, so you should not infer that suddenly corporate America (other than the pharmaceutical company HIV-specific advertisements) are any such endorsement of your perverted, deviant and disgusting lifestyle and/or some sudden demographic-related discovery of pozzies swimming in money.

Im sure you're correct.  But, why do we have to behave ourselves then with the porn?  I thought that meant they were specifically advertising on this site.

Where is that?  How is that even possible?  When you fill out a loan application is there a box you have to check for being HIV positive? How would the bank even know?

As far as the ads on here go they are user specific.  One day I had an ad that said "Seattle's bucket list" 30 things to do in Seattle before you die.  At first I was offended, then I realized the site had nothing to do wi the ad, it was google generated.

passed 50, for a mortagage, there is a medical certicate that MUST be filled out by  a (insurrance designated) doctor (who in a good number of cases is actually your family doctor, for convienience), who is then paid by the insurrance company to perform routine screening. Screaning includes HIV test as mandatory.

Legally speaking, they can not exclude you from the mortgage, but the insurrance that is then required (and provided by hte bank) is outrageous!

I manage 4 "for profit" websites and with each domain name, Google and Facebook have offered free pay per click advertising which for me is $1600 free advertising.  Google does not post the free advertising without a credit card on file, go figure. 

I recently contacted every radio station in San Francisco with a proposal.  I asked for rate cards and demographics but because of industry type, their eyes lit up like Christmas trees while rate cards became unavailable and were substituted with written and expensive sales contracts.  I could reach the desired audience but the cost of the advertising was greater than the profit from the additional desired sales it may bring.

As an individual sitting at home with a computer, I have somehow managed to keep the site within the first 3 pages of Google search, using general terms for the last couple of years.  Advertising is not art, it is advertising and I remember when an Elevator Operator could get hired as an Account Executive at Ogilvy Mather.  I was once interviewed at Ketchum Worldwide, Los Angeles for TV Media Buyer for the Acura Account and I still won't use that $1600 in free pay per click     Have the best day
