Sure, I would like to hear your guess, especially if it is backed up with some sort of study or research or even anecdotal experience.

My guess is that is that as I and others have said above "At some point, each infection is an individual thing" and the general trend is just that a generalized trend.

I suspect that my individual disease course is within the normal variability range. I have wondered why the numbers haven't been going as projected. I also wonder if something I am doing has been helpful. I have a few suspicions but it is difficult to say, thats why it would be great to hear from others. What were your lab results like after your diagnosis? Did they follow the general trend?

25/03/2010 - CD4 981 (28%) VL 122,719 <-started anti-oxidants (ABCDE, Se, ALA, NAC)

Were you tracking your CD4 prior to your infection?  I have no idea what my CD4's trended as I was not aware of when I was infected.

No as far as I know it is not customary to track CD4 levels without indication. I think I understand what you are implying- that the baseline test after infection might have been the lowest CD4 value for me and thus the CD4 did actually dip right at the beginning.  I thought about that but there is no way to know it.

If a negative person walks into a Doctor's office and asks for a CD4 and/or VL test they will not be given. I asked my negative friend to try actually to get a CD4 at the same time as his Anti-HIV and the testing center would not do it because there was no indication for it.

This is correct. Unless a specific test is indicated it will not, normally, be performed.
