HIV Risk From Giving Blowjob While Having an Oral STD

Hello,

I know the conversations of giving blowjobs and the risk of HIV have become exhausted... but I'm curious about HIV risk if other STD's are in the throat/ mouth. 

I recently got tested for HIV, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and Chlamydia.  A couple days after getting tested and while waiting on the lab results to come back, I gave a man oral sex and swallowed.  I informed him that I was waiting on a couple tests to come back, and while I'm not showing any visible signs (or physical discomfort) of an STD in my mouth, back of throat or genital area- I could very well have something and not know it.  He was okay with taking the risk, as was I.

If I do test positive for some oral STD- would that have increased my risk for HIV because of potential inflammation and infection in the back of throat...or would this still be considered low risk/ theoretical risk/ nothing to worry about?

No it would not increase your risk for HIV, but other STIs are much easier to transmit.
Your right many times you show now symptoms, so continue to test regularly.

To avoid infection,
You need to be using condoms for all anal and vaginal intercourse until you are in a trusting monogamous relationship and both have been tested for all STIs and HIV.
Everyone who is sexually active should have an annual exam and test for all STIs and HIV ,and always after unprotected intercourse. Always using condoms will give you peace of mind your tests will return with a negative result.
