Is AMG for poz only?
« on: February 20, 2011, 04:57:19 am »
This is the first time I've considered reading about an AMG and I have a question.  I'm not sure we can even make it (my partner teaches at a year-round college), but before I spend the time researching a trip for us, I want to let you know that I am poz, but my partner is HIV-negative, so am I allowed to bring him along?  Or will he be excluded from parts of the program.  (Please note, I am only asking about the procedural rules - not for an exception to be made - but I didn't happen to see if anyone else brings negative significant others to the gatherings.)

If someone will please let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it.  If it happens we can make those dates, I'd love to visit Seattle.

Many thanks...

My partner is coming -- he's negative, so he won't be alone.

SDGuy

Absolutely bring your partner.  Over the years we've had members from 7 to 70, male female, gay straight,
poz and neg.

It matters not.

Hope to see you in Seattle.

Sure SD, he's quite welcome.

If memory serves correct there are usually a few neggies there, friends of or partners of or even parents of members.

The only thing I can add to these posts is that this is a gathering where it really makes no difference whether one is poz or neg.  It is a celebration of community from literally all walks of life.  Very few gatherings I attend achieve this level of acceptance which is why it is always circled on my calendar no matter what.  i hope you join us and find out for yourself!
