Sleeping for just 3 hours on Tivicay+truvada
« on: June 20, 2017, 03:08:23 pm »
Due to sleeping problems every night ( i can fall asleep at first , but then i woke up in about 30 minutes and cant sleep for 3 hours, then falling asleep at apr. 4 AM for just 3 hours) , today i will try not to eat any food with tivicay , since maybe it does help, hope there is no problem for this( too low cmax of DTG...)
If this doesnt help maybe i should change the time to morning ( i take it always  at 5 pm), but this is the time i am 100 % about to take it on time, if i would change it to morning the time could vary for +-2 hours , which is bad idea...

This started happening already on older (kivexa/prezista/norvir) regimen, but after apr. 4 months being on old threatment , and after i swithed to Truvada/tivicay this sleeping problems continued ( switch was not due to any problems, not even sleeping troubles), but i cant find any other reason then ARV for problems...

i dont want to go away from  Tivicay ( i could also change to Genvoya) since it is "superier" II.....

If any of you has a better idea on how to get rid of sleeping problems, please let me know....

Thx as lot to everybody,

Hi

Sorry to hear you are having sleep problems.

Yes, you could move the tivicay to the AM and without food for a while if you want to try that. Keeping in mind you have only been on this combo a few months, if the problem persists check with your GP of course for underlining issues and if from the meds what options you have on managing the concern if it does not settle.

Wishing you sweet dreams and hope you get a full nights rest soon.

Jim

So you had this sleep disorder on an old combination, changed medication and still have the sleep disorder? Why do you think it is something to do with unrelated medications?

I'd get to a specialist sleep clinic as my first point of call.

Taking Tivicay without food will reduce the bioavailability by ca. 30%

this is authorized by the label and may help reduce this issue, which is not that rare amoung Tivicay users
