Back Home in Louahvull
« on: September 19, 2007, 06:49:14 pm »
I got back at 10 am this morning after taking the red-eye from SF last night.  Now I remember why "red-eye" flights are discounted.... thank goodness I am off until Monday.  I took a major nap and am somewhat more acclimated now.

I had a wonderful...although way to brief time with AMG this year.  It was so nice to see my friends from last year and I met many new ones this time as well.

I am hoping that some of the forum readers will read all these posts and make arrangements to join us next year wherever we gather.  As you can tell from the first time attendees...it is normal to be a bit apprehensive about meeting so many new people, but once you get there you realize how much of a community we really are.  This group is amazing...it spans many different ages, backgrounds, nationalities...not to mention gay and straight, married and single.  The time is almost all spent forging a common bond of friendship and support.  There just is nothing else like this.... I can't imagine that I would have adjusted as much as I have since my diagnosis without this forum...and even more so from the two AMG gatherings I have attended.

Thanks again to you all....love and support and good wishes!

Hi Gary,

Glad you made it home safely.   It was great seeing you again!   I know it was a shorter weekend for you than for some of us, but I'm glad you were able to make it.

hugs,

Alan

Gary.

It was so nice to see you again but we only talked for a few minutes.  Not long enough.  I'm glad you met John and JR....two more good connections on the west coast.  Let's hope we don't have any weddings next year.  Two days is just not enough.

Gary,

You took a red-eye flight home?  Oh my...   :o   I don't see how anyone can handle a red-eye flight.

It was great to meet you in SF.  But your ears aren't nearly as long and floppy as your avatar suggests.   ;D

Love,

Henry

Henry,

I am not sure I "handled" it well!  It has taken my system two extra days to recover.  I am going to Europe next month and have another "overnight" flight on the way over (There is no other way.)  And for me "sleeping in coach" is a contradiction...or better yet, an oxymoron!

It was great meeting you too.

Gary

Even though you had to come in late, I'm so glad you chose to come to SF.  Seeing you again and having a chance to visit (I never did buy you that Manhattan I promised did I?  Oops!) for even a brief time was wonderful.

I think this pretty much says what I feel too:

Take care buddy.
