*** Forum volunteers (mod) wanted ***
« on: October 08, 2017, 01:38:58 pm »
Hi All

We are currently looking for 1 person to join the mod team, initially to volunteer for the “Am I infected” section of the forum.

As such we have decided to post the need here, so that people who are interested can let us know. Ideally we are looking for someone who can fit the below description:

•   Has been an active member for at least 1 year
•   Must have the time to volunteer on a regular basis
•   Must be capable of being supportive yet firm on transmission and HIV facts.
•   Must be capable of remaining non-judgmental towards posters who have had exposures

•   Tasked with educating OP's and readers on Transmission, PEP, PrEP &  "safer" sex
•   Provide assessments based on risks in line with proven strategies & forum assessment guidelines.

•   Generally keeping members conversations on track
•   Refocusing posters on "What is" & "facts" and away from "What if's" & "Hearsay"

Calibration & guidance will be provided for Am I section

In addition:
•   Learn and understand how the system works with regards to account approval requests, filtering out spam, duplicates ect ect
•   Eliminating mess by moving misplaced posts, deleting any spam, removing links and reminding users to leave their comments in the correct places.

I will reply to everyone who wishes to volunteer or anyone who would like more information. please try not to be disappointed if you are not selected as we are of course are only looking for 1 person at the moment.

Thanks, Jim, for the bump up.

Forum members:  if you meet the criteria, please consider contacting Jim.  The moderators here are very supportive on one another and will take the time to assist you as you begin your volunteer duties.

Remember, the POZ forum is only as good as those who participate within it and as effective only as much as those who volunteer to manage it.  If the forum has helped you during dark days--or continues to help you, support you, educate you--please consider giving something back to the forum community.  It's good to add new blood and perspective in order to keep the forum as a vibrant voice for those affected by the HIV.

Hi

This is the last bump on this thread. Many hands make light work is the thought process here. To be clear nobody is expecting anyone to dedicate his/her life to volunteering on the forum.

Currently we have had 1 person offer some limited time on the forum who will we work with and the offer is greatly appreciated, also another member has kindly offered to provide us with English to Spanish translation support. This is really appreciated and will be of great assistance.

That said ideally we are still looking for 1 more additional person, to help out.
So please do have a think about it and if you are unsure or have any questions feel free to let me know via PM.

Jim
