Brains, Talent & Gorgeous Tits
« on: July 13, 2007, 03:09:13 pm »
Continuing down memory lane, I recently came on a very thorough examination of Bette Midler's early career, before she became a movie star and was content to be a drag queen with a real live womb. A more gay-friendly performer has simply never existed.

The website contains snippets from all her albums from 1972-1983, along with contemporary critiques (not all positive, BTW). Also included is a comprehensive overview of her various tours from the era.

The link below is the page for her Live At Last double album which was where I came in originally, but negotiating through everything is a rewarding experience for anyone who remembers:

I've got that concert on (antiquated tech alert) Laserdisc. She is very entertaining. I can just imagine going to a bath house in the 70s and seeing someone like her performing. What a hoot!

Oooooooh! The Divine Miss M!

Matty the Damned loves her. :)

If Leonard Cohen writes the music to slash your wrists to, then Bette produces material for overly emotional women and gay men. The difference between those groups is, of course, is the width of a slender bottom's cock.
