treatment news... nobody cares...
« on: July 29, 2007, 10:31:08 pm »
I posted something I thought was interesting about Norvir/Invirase with Truvada study, showing it was just as effective as Kaletra with Truvada, with way less side effects.  Guess what?  Nobody cares?  No one has responded to it, although it did get an anemic 25 views.  I guess I put it in the wrong category.

No one reads the treatment forums, only the Living with HIV forums.  I'll know next time.  There are way too many categories in my opinion.  I think there should be an HIV category and OFF TOPIC category - that's it.  It's tedious going through the 12-plus categories then trudging through each entry to find something relative.  OK I'll get off my soap box now!

Have a great week everbody.

Signed,
Salty in Alabama

Hey Guy,

I read the treatment forum. I try to read all of the forums, aside from the Am I infected.

I  think the various forums are helpful because when there were just a few, the thread would drop so quickly, it was next to impossible to keep up.

But I also understand how frustrating it is to post something and have not get much response. Some things take off and others just sit there, even though they may be interesting or contain good information.

HUGS,

Mark

Dearest Mr. Salt:

I regularly read the Treatment section, and in fact read your thread but did not post.  I was going to go back to it at some point.

I'll do so now.

Best Regards,

Peppa

Hi there

I can understand how frustrating it can be...but you know, if 25 people  read, listened and took the information you gave out on board then it was worth posting, not everyone responds to posts but you are still getting the information and education out there for them...don't give up, as I said people are reading and learning from your posts even though it may seem that way.

Hugs

Ok... I replied in the other thread.  Hopefully someone else will too.

FYI: the original thread is in Research News, not the Questions about Treatment section if anyone gets confused.

I am glad that you found a treatment that you can tolerate...  Kaletra was the WORST right up there with sustiva...

Please, continue to post EVERYTHING!!!  god knows I wish I could...

Be well

Hey Sam,

I was one of the ungrateful 25 who read your thread but didn't reply. ;) I found it most interesting. Nasty old saquinavir is just about as good as nasty old Kaletra.

Sometimes posts such as yours in the lower traffic forums don't seem to invite comment. It might be redundant, but adding a "what do you guys think" may help you get responses in the future.

Don't get discouraged. I try to read the treatment news or my bf (who I know reads all the treatment stuff incessently -- has more HIV related bookmarks than I thought was humanly possible) gives me an update. I bet a lot of people find this information useful, they just don't respond because it seems more like an FYI rather than a discussion.

As someone who was on Kaletra, and am now on Sustiva/Truvada, I was glad you posted the study because if, at some point down the road, I need to switchback to a PI, I know Invirase/truvada is a good option to consider in terms of sides/effectiveness (I was not a huge fan of Kaletra).

Thanks again...

Hey y'all I appreciate the replies, and I will post differently next time.  I was having a pitty party and now I'm better.

I love all you guys!

Sam

p.s. ...but I did think it was interesting that a 10 year old PI did as well (and in some ways, better), than a three year old PI.

I'm not on meds, but I did read it, I went to check the article, took note, but not being on meds yet I didn't feel like I could comment.

Your post is something that people will find when doing a search for those elements, so it's good that it's there!

In Kaletra's defense (I could go somewhere with that!), I DO have to take 6 PIs a day, plus Truvada.  At least I have no lipo and my lipid profile could be worse...

Have a good week, y'all.

Love,
Sam

I think I will go somewhere with that...
