Title: Life Insurance living with HIV...

I was covered through my job with life insurance. I had been on that job for over 10 years. Once the job started laying off we lost all benefits. Now I can not find life insurance do to my health status. Do anyone here know of a certain insurance company who does insure people living with HIV????

I live in the DC area.

I don't think there are any that offer any significant policy amount. 

There are some low benefit policies, guaranteed coverage for anyone.  However, they are low $$ policies up to about $10k.  Usually there are age requirements for guaranteed coverage policies.

Lesson. Anyone with a private life insurance policy obtained pre hiv, don't let it lapse. 

Otherwise, if your start a new job and are offered guaranteed coverage TAKE IT

Also, many policies you get at work will allow you to convert them to an individual term or whole life policy when you leave.

I've done this twice.
