Title: AIDSmeds Anonymous
Post by: Boo Radley on January 06, 2007, 04:07:21 pm
Hi.  My name is Boo R. and I'm an AIDSmeds addict.

I tell myself I'll sit down for an hour or so and look up to see 4 or 5 hours have passed.  My dogs get morning walks at 3PM much of the time (speaking of which...).  I ignore household chores (but have done that all my life so it's not really fair to claim AIDSmeds is the cause) and my front walk looks like it hasn't been swept since 2005 (come to think of it, maybe it hasn't).  Sometimes I sit so long my big ass falls asleep or I get a charley horse in one of my calves from hanging them off the bed while sitting at the PC.

Abby, what can I do about this problem?

Boo

Dear Boo R. -

The first step is to admit you are powerless over aidsmeds--that your life has become unmanageable (stolen from AA 12 steps)

The second step is to ignore the next 11 steps like I have and enjoy one of the few things left that doesn't cause too many problems except for the dust bunnies that I sometimes confuse for my terrier...except they move more!

Oh - and at least stand up once in awhile to keep the circulation going and keep those charley horses in the barn.

Your friend - Abby...uh make that woody....uh make that Kevin

Dear Boo,

You're not spending enough time on AIDSMEDS.

Cut out all of that extraneous stuff in your life. More time on AIDSMEDS!

Cheers,

Boo~~

Darling in those 5 hours you can/have shared your wisdom, made someone laugh, pissed someone off, or sat back and wondered what the hell someone was thinking by what they posted. That's entertainment... ;)

Hi, Boo!  I'm so glad you bravely said something.  I was feeling much the same, but was afraid to speak up about it and admit my habit.

(But come to think of it, everyone here knows my name and what I look like...so I guess I am not very anonymous.  But an addict nonetheless!)

PS-  I'm glad Woody nixed the other 11 steps.  I'm too lazy to finish 12 steps of hardly anything.

Hi, Boo!

I'm not an addict... I can quit anytime I want.

I just don't want to.

I'm Jay, and I'm an AM addict too.

But I like being addicted to this.

The sad fact is that it's vacation time and I can spend as many hours a day on this site as I want. Once term starts in ten days or so, I'm seriously going to have to limit myself to an hour a day. Or two. Tops.  :'(

There is no doubt that I'm addicted to AidsMeds. I have the hemorrhoids to prove it.  ;)

Why do people bump up threads that are 1.5 years old?  What can possibly be the relevancy?

I didn't feel like starting a new thread. Plain & simple  ::)

Girl, are you forever hiding out in ancient threads or what?

What's up with that?

Oops.  I see philly beat me to it.  I guess we are all just wondering because you routinely pop in to bump ancient threads with some random new post and then (usually) log right off immediately after.

I'm just curious, that's all.

For those who still find this thread relevant and can relate.

Drink more water. You will be forced eventually to get up and go pee. Unless you want to be like Howard Hughes and collect jars of urine around your computer.  ;D

It's not as if others haven't brought back old threads (usually out of context) for their own reasons. So I don't get what the issue is to be honest.

Anyway, I agree that it did bring back some good thoughts about Boo and I appreciate the water/piss advice!  :D

These threads sure read like group therapy to me. Bringing up old issues to rehash with new members piping in.
Try to make you go AidsMeds rehab ... and i say NO, no, no!

I don't find anything wrong with the resurrection of older threads either. This one kind of made me chuckle this morning.  :) Reminded me of a conversation I had with Ed a couple years ago.

I remember quite a while back, Ed , saying to me " Don't you think your spending too much time on that site.?"

I said " Why, Am I acting nuts?"  :P     He said "I don't think so"  I said,"When I do , let me know !!

We've been told in the past to try not to start new threads where an old one may be relevant but it's one of those conflicts the forums posters face- To start a new thread or resurrect an old one, credit Allopathic with doing his homework and finding an old thread he feels is still topical!  I don't have such a good memory anymore!  ;)

Did I fall into a time warp during my flight (last night) after a ten day vacation in New York? :o This was the first email I opened today and I momentarily asked myself who the hell was using my private info to get into the forum and play me. Then I saw the date and fell into reason. What confusion this caused! I don't even remember writting that message! ??? Still, it was weird seeing one of my old replies after all this time...

So, there you have it. Had Allo not bumped, Win would not have shared the piss pots advice, I've got a mayonaise jar now half full near my recliner, ah damn, I can hear the rehab nurse out in the hall. Gotta go. Not that kind of go, leave go. No, I'm serious. She's a bitch---if she sees me online again---I was doing so well with rehab. Kickin' AM is

I wonder where Quantcast gets its information from.  How does it estimate gender, race, income and education levels of internet users?

Dont know.

Had to Google Quantcast to even grasp what the question ment.

Still not sure where or why the question.

But it is on  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantcast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantcast)

Good luck there.

Truth be told ol' Boo did finally reach AidsMeds anonymity by getting his ass banned, but unfortunately not his addiction.

It usually takes some cute kittens to show just how easy it is to end internet catfights.

I miss Boo Radley.  He had at least one nervous breakdown every week but was very witty and intelligent.  Its sad to see people slip away....sort of like drowning.... and you cant do anything but watch them sink below the surface.
