First Lab results
« on: July 23, 2013, 10:36:45 am »
So, I was diagnosed on 6/4/2013 and didn't get my lab results until 7/17. Needless to say, I was just crazy thinking the worst. I made out my will and started giving away stuff.  My new husband had already retained a lawyer and I was hunting a place to stay.  So I met with the doctor and he asked me what I knew about the virus and I told him that HIV basically hijacks CD cells and replacates until they outnumber the healthy cells.  Then he says that's a good analogy and proceeded to explain the 4 ways that the meds help to slow the process down.  He also explains the viral load.  He finally says here are your results...my cd4 is 750 and my viral load is undetectable!  I was floored!! So no meds for me and just continue to eat healthy and exercise.  I go back in 2 months for labs then see the doctor again the next month.  I told my husband the news as well, he was out of town on a business trip.  He said he was happy for me and my news.  I didn't know what was going to happen on that front.  He came home 3 days ago and he is now in it for the long haul with me!!!  I just had to share this with my new family

Good news on the undetectable viral load. I was diagnosed with an undetectable viral load also, it's a great buffer to getting your head around being positive. Mine crept up and then took a massive jump recently, I hope that yours stays low down. But it's stil great to have such good numbers at the start. Good luck!
