Oral sex without protection
« on: April 26, 2017, 08:46:50 am »
After reading I understand that symptoms doesn't equal diagnosis.  I'm being very hopeful after I had a sexual encounter where I used a condom for viginal intercourse and unprotected oral sex.  I'm reading my risk should have been low for hiv but the symptoms are similar to ARS, making me more and more worried.  To ease my mind I have test 6 weeks oral rapid both negative.  I have also tested at 9 weeks which both tests rapid and oral quick test where negative.

I have a couple questions:

-What percentile do I fail in for chances of test turning positive from beguile at 9 weeks?

-If I turned out to be positive can I press chargers against the partner rather she has a duty to notify or just didn't disclose her HIV status?

-What other STI could possible cause similar symptoms to HIV that I'm experiencing?

The following symptoms started at 6 weeks.

Chills
Severe headaches
Extreme tiredness
Joint pains
Flem in throat
Dirrea
Nausea
Rash
Dizziness
15 to 20 Red bumps
Constipation
Blood in stool
Dry scalp
Mouth ulcers
Reoccurring flu like symptoms
Weight loss 10 pounds
Constant belching
Ears ringing
Shortness of breathe
Partner is experiencing night sweats

Thanks in advance

Performing oral on her, or her on you was not a risk for HIV...NONE
You also protected yourself with a condom...no risk there either.
A negative result is very rare to change when confirmed at 13 weeks, especially when you've had NO RISK.

STIs are much easier to transmit and you should be testing for all on a regular basis if you are sexually active. We do not discuss symptoms and yours have nothing to do with HIV.
From what you have listed you better go see a doctor.....
Lastly take responsibility for your own actions.

Thanks for your reply Wade!  What's puzzling is I went to my doctor and had several blood tests and they all came back fine. The dr said it's probably due to stress. Which I am not buying that considering all the symptoms appeared after the sexual encounter.  So I took it one step further and went to my local STD clinic.  They tested all std test for hiv, clymedia, gonorrea, trig and more.  Hiv was negative (60 days) but results for Syphilis and Herpes are pending.

Last questions:

-How bad is having Herpes and HIV?  I hear that herpes would cause HIV to advance quicker and that Herpes meds would not be effective anymore.

-Also the legal aspect sorounding an HIV partner not exposing their status before sex.  Would I be able to press charges if they have a duty to inform sexual partners?

Thanks again Wade for you tremendous support on the subject

As I said you had no risk, but again a negative result will rarely change after 6 weeks.
You are worrying over nothing.
Herpes and HIV together are only a risk with unprotected intercourse...period
I will not go into legal aspects, only tell you again to take responsibility for your own actions and use condoms for all risky behavior.

So I took a final 92 day blood test.  The type of test was Antibody/Antigen Test.  It cameback negative.  My partner and are still having symptoms.  We have been tested for every STD known to man and they all came back negative.

My question is the following:

Is this type of test considered a confirmatory and accurate test?  Can I close the page on this chapter?  (I understand my risk was low but a piece of mind is priceless)

Thank you!

Yes, a test for HIV antibodies taken 13 weeks past potential exposure is considered to be conclusive.  You can close the page on this chapter and move on with your life.
