Hiv anxiety
« on: January 21, 2023, 07:22:18 am »
First of all, thank you for taking the time to ease our minds...
i Had protected sex with FSW for the first time, using condom lost my eriction during sex twice so she give me a handjob once with the condom on and once without (a handjob with possible vaginal fluids...) and then replaced the condom twice i didn't want to ejaculate so i decided to leave...after that developed  some sort of HIV anxiety.after a few hours of exposure noticed some small red bumps(like acne) on my feet and back a feeling like needles that comes and go all over my body for 28 days...small red bumps(like acne) lasted for a couple of days faded and new ones appeared...i lost some weight.now the red bumps are gone but i can't sleep since...i tested negative after 28 days ..after 40 days i had a dry cough that occur and go and i had a runny nose and an upset stomach for a week or less i dont remember having any fever or diarrhea or chills or night sweets .

i tested negative  for for both hiv and hepatite B after 28 days.
But i still believe that i have contracted HIV it's been 3months now.
do i need to get tested again?thanks in advance

Whatever is making you feel unwell has nothing to do with HIV from the concerned encounter.

Even if she had vaginal fluids on her hands or some on your penis when removing the condom, getting a handjob isn't an HIV risk to you, and as for the intercourse, HIV can't transmit through an intact latex or polyurethane condom. Unless a condom obviously fails during intercourse, there is no reason to be stressing or testing for HIV outside the standard yearly HIV screening.

Move on with your life, continue to use condoms for any intercourse, and as you are sexually active, get an STI screening yearly out of routine.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

The condom broke during intercourse, so to know your HIV status, test six weeks post this potential exposure with a blood-draw (lab) HIV antibody test. The result at this time will rarely change, and retesting at three months generally isn't needed.
