Need your expert opinion on Oral sex

I am male 32. I performed unprotected fellatio on a guy about 6 weeks back (January 9th, 2023). He was uncircumcised. Before the encounter I asked him if he had any STI. He told me that he had none except for HSV-1. I decided to proceed since I was told that most people have had HSV-1 and at that time the guy did not have any open sores. He told me that the latest test he had done was in late October, 2022. But he did not show me those results so I am not sure if he was lying. This happened during our first meeting.

Two weeks after that I went out with another guy. He told me that he was on PreP and in fact also showed me his medication. He also shared with me the results from his last testing which was on January 4th, 2023. He has no STIs. So I decided to suck him off as well. But I am more confident about this encounter than the one i mentioned before.

After about 4 weeks, I developed cold sores in mouth but no fever. I have had these sores plenty of times before. These usually come and go during winter. But this time they seem to linger for long. I have searched the internet numerous times about HIV risk in unprotected oral sex and they all say that there has never been a well documented case of transmission. But I am very worried and extremely stressed out. I was wondering if you could help.

Would have been totally irrelevant even if he had shown you the results.

He might well have STIs or HIV given the window period for testing and having some HIV meds (Truvada or generic version) means nothing at all.

You decided to proceed since most people have it is nonsense, you already have herpes and hence proceeded.

Keep in mind as innocent as cold sores sound they can cause some people major complications and can be passed on even when you don't have visible sores. If you are getting frequent outbreaks talk to your healthcare provider.

Long story short, you gave two guys a blowjob.

The mouth generally lacks a route for HIV to infect. Even if you had gaping open holes in your mouth and you didn't, saliva also neutralises HIV by damaging the receptors needed to infect human cells. It's such a minute HIV risk that it doesn't warrant testing outside the standard yearly screening.

Move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.
