Worried about hiv
« on: February 15, 2023, 02:18:02 pm »
Hello
I'm a man and I'm worried if I might have gotten HIV this way.

That was 6 weeks ago, I had a nuru massage with a woman. It is a naked body massage, there was a lot of massage oil. I don't recall any direct genital contact.

At first, I was lying on my stomach and a certain situation made me anxious. The woman had quite long fingernails and I remember that she hooked the head of my penis quite firmly. There was no blood, but I'm afraid the scratch might have been big enough for the virus to get through. (of course in oil mixed with vaginal fluids)

Then I lay down on stomach. For fear of accidental penetration, I put on a condom. Unfortunately, when putting it on, I remember that my hands were dirty from oil and there could be vaginal discharge.

If, when putting on a condom, the secretion would get inside, in my opinion, these are ideal conditions for the virus because there is no access to air. If so, is it a risk?

I am very concerned because 2 days after the massage my coil hurt and I went to the doctor. He prescribed me medication for gonorrhea and other fungi. (I lied there that I had penetrative sex with an unknown person)

The stinging seemed to have decreased but it was still "strange" so I took a swab from the urethra - negative.

I'm writing this post because I haven't been tested for HIV and I still feel a strange stinging of the penis (specifically the glans) and now I got a sore throat that lasts a week.

Should I get tested for HIV? The most i want to know od there was risk by this penis glan scratch?

Read your post and all the details three times; You had no HIV risk from the massage session, zero!

Move on with your life, use condoms for any intercourse and as you are sexually active get a routine STI & HIV screening yealry.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

I had to laugh a little, as normally everyone lies and claims they didn't have condomless intercourse when we all know they did.

Anyhow, don't lie to the doctor next time, as a treatment for different infections can vary and getting the wrong treatment might not fully clear up an infection or problem.

Thank you for answering so quickly!

I lied for two reasons. It's better than a nuru massage, and two of them I wanted medicines right nie without unnecessary research :D

So you're saying scratching the glans of the penis is nothing to worry about? Why ? In my opinion, these are sufficient conditions for the virus to be absorbed from vaginal secretions.

HIV is fragile, and the receptors needed to infect degrade once exposed outside the body to the environment; next to that, whatever fluids you come into contact with were diluted with massage oil, and the lubricating fluids a woman produces when excited don't contain viable HIV to start with, in addition, day-to-day scrapes, minor wounds, cuts etc., aren't routes for you to acquire HIV.

So basically, your concerns lack all the environmental and biological conditions needed to acquire HIV; hence it's not an HIV risk.

You need to know that HIV is sexually acquired inside the confines of the human body, like during condomless intercourse.
