3 years since diagnosis

It's been 3 years since diagnosis. It has been crazy.

Started on Bictarvy became resistant to one of the medicines. They wanted to pull me off off Bictarvy and put me on Pifeltro and Prezcobix. My insurance denied that and  kept me on Bictarvy and added another medicine.

That didn't work so a few months of showing lowered cd4 and increased viral load, my insurance caved and I was put on what my doctors wanted to do in the first place. It was disappointing that we lost a year of progress due to beaurocracy.

I became undetectable and my cd4 has gone up drastically. 3 years ago I was in a bad place. VL in the millions and cd4 at 6.  Today it is 320. My doctor has taken me off of Bactrim.

It just took time. I was horribly depressed and felt like the world was out to get me and everything was hopeless. It was bad enough I had HIV but I also had AIDS. Looking back, it breaks my heart to see myself feeling that way and not understanding what that meant.

So I guess it is day 1100 or so since I was diagnosed. Three years ago I felt at my worst-both mentally and physically. Today, my mind feels great. My body is a work in progress. And I feel content and at peace. I am very glad to have been told that it gets better by a lot of people here.
