Rash
« on: November 24, 2006, 07:32:57 pm »
Hello Everyone,

Lately, I have been experiencing a rash on my left arm.  The rash consist of little red bumps that are raised and itch like crazy. The ironic thing is they disappear after a few moments or so, but then they return and usually in a different spot on the same arm.  Has anyone experienced a rash like this and what could it be.  My next Doctor's appointment isn't until Feb 15, 2007, so should I try to see the doctor a lot sooner. I found out on August 10th that I was HIV Positive and I am not currently on medication.  Could it be something that I am eating or drinking that's causing me to break out in a rash or is this normal in HIV positive people? Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Positivelyyours,

It appears that it may be some sort of allergic reaction that you are having from something that you are eating or it could be hypersensitivity. If the rash persits you may want to have a Doctor check it out to determine the cause.

Hi.  It sounds like something to have someone look at if it continues.  It is not affecting the extremities, i.e. your hands and feet, where allergic reactions tend to hit and is limited to one arm instead of both.  It could be something got into what you are wearing on your left arm (sweatshirt, sweater, if applicable).  NOT being a doctor, I would doubt that it has anything to do with hiv.  Win

Hello Poet and Thanks for your response.  The irritating rash seem to move around on my arm.  I will have my doctor take a look at it.  Again, thanks for your response.
