Worried Sick
« on: December 08, 2010, 11:54:35 am »
I am 30 YO guy. Worried that I may have got infected.
I met this friend of mine couple of nights before which was just a causual  meeting after 5 years. After having drinks she started touching me and I got aroused and we end up mating.
While in act, she pulled out a Condom from her hand bag and tried to put on my D*** but it was slipping out as it lost erection. Then she wanted to have sex with me without it and told me that she is not worried and will eat some pregnancy pills. We ended up mating 2 times in the same night.

The following day i felt Dizzy and lethargic. Next day which was yesterday i started feeling upper back pain and upper neck pain just behind my ears with a little pain un my Jaw. I took Thermometer and found that there is no fever. But all the symptoms I am having are for Flu infection which is the major sign of onset of HIV infection.

I am loosing sleep from that night till today which is 2 nights in row.
Am I infected?

Those symptoms are in no way HIV-specific nor would symptoms occur so quickly after a risky incident. But you also need to know that neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you anything accurately about your HIV status. Only an HIV test taken at 13 weeks afterwards can give you a conclusively negative result.

HIV is a fragile virus. It is more difficult to transmit it from female to male than the other way round. However, unprotected intercourse is a definite risk so you do need to get tested. You can do that for a final result at 13 weeks. The odds are in your favor that you're going to test negative. But you need to learn from this experience. It doesn't matter whom you are with, what you think you know about their health history anything else for that matter. You need to use a condom everytime you have vaginal or anal intercourse. No exceptions.

Good luck with your test result. During your waiting time you need to make a real effort to focus on other matters in your life. It will make the waiting time go faster than you may imagine is possible.

Cheers.

worried,

If your dick feels strange, take it to a doctor. We cannot diagnose you over the internet.

Nothing you report sounds like hiv. And as Andy already told you, your symptoms came on far too quickly to have anything to do with hiv.

If you feel unwell while you wait to test, see a doctor. What you're currently reporting has nothing to do with hiv.

Hi Ann/ Andy,

I appreciate your response But last night I had some diarrhea like stools.
Then I went to a family function and there i had some Hard Drinks. Their I felt strange Watery feeling in my stomach.

In the morning when i woke up i had some sweat around my neck and neck when i took out my face from my quilt. (I always sleep like that with my face in quilt) but never happened this thing before.

Just to let you all know also that the room heater was on which is normally the case every night.

its is ARS. Please advice.

Again, nothing you are reporting is even remotely HIV specific. What they sound like are the concerns of someone who is anxious about the HIV issue and consequently now (mis)interpreting everything that happens or doesn't happen physically as another "sign" of HIV.

Your risk was not a high one and ultimately I expect you to come out of this ok. You can initially test at 6 weeks after the risky incident. Assuming you get the negative result that I expect, that will be a strong indication that you will continue to test negative at 13 weeks.

As we have already told you, if you have any symptoms that continue to bother you, discuss them with your doctor. We do not diagnose anything here.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply yet again!! which is keeping me on and out of worry!!

But yesterday suddenly i started having symtomps like Tiredness, Scratch Throat along with coughs (Sore Throat), and Runny nose. I was getting hot and cold flushes too but no Fever yet. Felt Nauseatic the whole day.having Gatric Problems alot which is making me go to the washroom again and again. Got Loose Stools yesterday in the evening and after that felt the fullness in upper stomach.

Its been over 2 weeks after that incidence and all the above symptoms relate to Flu like symtoms which could be ARS.. I am worried to death mate! Please Help!!

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Right now you are busily (mis)interpreting everything that happens or doesn't happen to you physically as ANOTHER SIGN of HIV.  Neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you anything accurately about your HIV status. Only an HIV test can give you the answer you want.

You can test initially at 6 weeks after the risk. Assuming you test negative, which is what I expect, that means you are very likely to continue testing negative at 13 weeks.

No matter what symptoms you throw into the mix we are not going to be able to say anything different to you than we already have. If  you have troubling symptoms that is something to discuss with your doctor. We are not suddenly going to say oh yes, those are definitely ARS. As you have been told repeatedly, we don't diagnose symptoms here.

Finally, ultimately the odds are very much in your favor from that single incident that you will come out of this ok. That's about all we can say to you at this point.

Hi Andy,

You are right in saying that i am comprehending every symptom thats happening to HIV Infection and ARS.
But the facts are it has never happened to me before. why after 2 weeks of that incident which is the typical period of ARS...as most the information says in this Forum.
I know that only Testing can tell me the status. But at the moment i am looking and experiencing these facts.

Please reply.

worried,

Make your mind up. In your first post you said the symptoms started the next day (which is far too early). Now you're saying they started two weeks later.

Regardless, you are unlikely in the extreme to end up positive over this situation. And as we have told you repeatedly, hiv cannot be diagnosed through symptoms. If you insist on coming back here repeatedly to complain about your symptoms, you will be given a time out, window period or no window period. You need to get off hiv websites and get on with your life until the appropriate time to test. And I do expect you to test negative.

No, it is not ARS. You have HIV jitters and symptoms which in some instances may be as much from anxiety as anything else.

There's really nothing more for us to say about your situation. You have to wait, get tested and get what we expect is going to be a negative result.

Go see a doctor if you find your symptoms are serious enough to warrant that. If you come back with more about symptoms and what ifs and asking us if it's ARS, you are going to get that Time Out that Ann has warned you about.

And if you are listening, I will say again that we expect you to test negative.

Sounds like you're having a big old attack of anxiety.

You've been told that symptoms are meaningless and you just have to wait out the window period until you can test.

If you feel ill, see your doctor.

Worried,

You've repeatedly ignored what we've told you about symptoms. They mean nothing where hiv is concerned.

I'm giving you  that time out you've been warned about. Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.
