Two faced
« on: August 26, 2010, 02:15:59 pm »
I have been thinking about getting Radiesse facial fillers for some time now , I finally did it yesterday along with having  two moles removed from my face .

I was freaking out last night because it appeared and felt lumpy . This morning its smooth but still swollen , I can tell I'm gonna look like I used to look before Zerit did its number my face .

Boo.

There you go.

I'm happy for you that your filler thing has gone well.

But why stop at eleven inches? Honey, go for fifteen. I know I would.

And come on, if that avatar is the real thing, that Gino is one hot puppy and no wonder people are talking. As for Mecch, he brings this shit on himself. But you didn't hear that from me. :)

My luck if I got 15 I would pass out from lack of blood to my brain every time the thing got hard.

Ah, a comatose Phil. I can deal with that. You may be a bit sore when you come to, so be warned. :)

I enjoy dear Mech's post , he has always been a sweet guy to me . I prefer to think we pick on the ones we love sometime , my close friends know its true about me .

And Gino ... whats not to love about all that .

Thanks guys ... I had a great deal of anxiety about repairing the old face of mine . The big deal with me was that I had made an effort to get to a place of acceptance regarding how I felt about myself on the inside and out with my HIV journey . I have no idea how to put into words what this means to me but its much more than vanity going on here . I began a positive whole new way of life a few years ago and this I did for myself .

Congratulations on the treatment!  Has the swelling gone down since then?

Its gone down dramatically today . I had a buddy over for dinner and he could not believe the difference .

I had those deep lines running beside my nose and they are completely gone now . My neighbor talked to me at the mailbox today and told me I looked really rested and asked if I had got a haircut or some thing .

For an 11 inch penis you'd most likely need a 2 hand model and I could do that as well.

I had my first sculptra inections 10 days ago (~20 injections) -- I can tell a slight difference.  Mine is bad enough that I had to endure three injection sessions spaced six weeks apart, so I won't be done until the second week of November, just in time to look "normal" for Thanksgiving.  A rather long process, but then that's part of it not being a permanent filler, and it's something that stimulates the normal production of your body's own collagen so it has to build itself up.

I have some pictures of my face in a "before" mode, though they're atrocious and I don't like to look at them.  If I look OK when it's all done I may slap up a documentary for everyone, perhaps even with pictures taken before each injection sessions so you can see the gradual process.

But, I ain't promising anything.  It's kind of a bit of work since I live on my own and have to do the pictures on my own.

jg1962 is having Radiesse done as opposed to Sculptra and IIRC that's used when you lipo isn't as severe as mine is and I think it's done in one session -- correct me if I'm wrong jg.

You are correct David .

I was just starting to feel good about having it done until this morning . My mom told me I looked awful and shouldn't have done it , said that I had ruined my face and she wouldn't know me walking down the street . She is wrong I know
It really hurt my feelings . All that crap I wrote about my reasons for doing it were bullshit also . I do have lipo in my face but the real reason I did it was because I'm a 48 year old guy who's been through allot who just wants to feel better about myself .

The only thing my mom accomplished today is help me get over feeling guilty for spending money for vanity's sake .

I'm a little confused -- so you have lipo, and have you had it since being on zerit 10 years ago or does your mother just think you've aged in the past several years?  Did she not see your face sink in when you were in your 30's?

I love my mom but she has never been emotionally supportive to anyone . She never compliments and only criticises .

She has seen what its like being POZ for me but will not discuss it .

When I lived next door to her years ago and was going through chemo therapy she never once called or brought a bite of food over . Its gotten worse between us since my dad died and I was there to help and support him during his illness despite having been divorced from the man 30+ years . She will gladly open a check book for family in trouble but will not let you forget it . Money is her only way of showing love .

You poor thing -- I just want to hug you.  That really sucks.  Sounds like Mary Tyler Moore in Ordinary People but even worse.

Honey, don't let your Mother's non-supportiveness get you down.  Makes you wonder if she ever really LOOKED at you before.

Note to everyone else:  the same doctor did jg's that did mine and my partner's....I sure as HELL think we both look a LOT better, and I know that you do too, my friend.   Partner's correction has been more 'noticeable' to others than my own (he also had the deep vertical lines on his face, I did not)  He looks rested, healthy...but strangers and casual acquaintances aren't able to say exactly why, just "you really look good, very rested and healthy".   No one has said "wow you had something injected into your cheeks that filled them out and took away those deep lines where it was so sunk in".   I also think it is due to a GOOD DOCTOR, who knows what she is doing...I did not want my face to scream "LOOK I'M DIFFERENT"....just wanted to feel better about myself, and I do.

Not sure if I am brave enough to post before/after photos (like Felicia said)... we sure have taken plenty.  When you compare those photos, you can SEE the DRASTIC changes.

We need to get together soon honey, and compare cheeks  ;D

Now if we could just get something done about my butt (or lack of), my belly, and the bottoms of my feet... ;)

Thanks Alan . I'm looking forward to seeing you guys soon .

As for my mom ... her 7 sisters have already had a little talk with her and she is at least doing a passable job at pretending she gives a damn .

And you are very sweet for saying that , thank you .

My mom is famous and much loved in our family for just being mom . Most times when she pulls stuff like this we all just laugh it off and add it to the list , I am known for being Mr cool nice guy under pressure and she got me this time .
Like most everything else in life this stuff is just funny now and no harm done .

Hi Guys,    I came across your thread on "Two faced", and wondered if anyone knows a way to find reviews of doctors who do the procedure.    I can find a list of doctors, but since "artistry" seems to be one of the most important factors in choosing a doctor, I am looking for some reviews or first hand recommendations.

My doctor recommended someone, but that doctor no longer accepts Medicare, and I am living on SS.  I understand that it would be well into the thousands of dollars if I paid out of pocket for the procedures.

I am in SF, but that does not make the search any easier.

Maybe try contacting your local ASO and see if they can recommend someone . Good luck .

I found mine both from a personal recommendation of a friend and from my HIV doctor, and it just happened to by the same recommended person.  But I know handfuls of other people locally that have gotten Sculptra done -- if you can locate a support group where more long-term survivor patients attend you'll find what you need in terms of personal recommendations.
