Please Help! Need Expert Answer! Very worried!
« on: January 12, 2007, 05:11:07 pm »
Hi Everyone.

I am so worried. I was in a club on wednesday night (10.1.07) and someone stabbed me in the neck with a needle! :'( I really really need some advice. Could I have contracted the virus this way? I have been reading the posts and read one that said if you are a drug user the actual window period increases to 6months! Does this therefore mean that if there were drugs on the needle I would have to wait 6months for a test? I dont take drugs myself and I am not on any medication but if there was drugs on the needle what would that mean? What is the actual window period for a needle stick injury? Have i been at risk? Please help me! Im scared.   :-[

So you seen the person stick you with a syringe. It makes a big difference what type of needle. Well if you would like to know, no one outside the healthcare field has ever contracted HIV by a needle stick.

If you want to test, it's 3 months to get your conclusive test.

6 months is recommended for occupational exposures that KNOW that the syringe contained HIV positive blood. Should you test, only if it will help you relax.

Can I ask why you are using different usernames while posting to our forums? Thus far, you have also used kitty87

Please realize that this kind of activity is disrespectful of other forum members, as well as our moderators. People spend a considerable amount of time helping others in these forums. Using multiple accounts is at the very least annoying, if not deceiving and disrespectful of others. It is also against our Terms of Membership which you agreed to when you became a member. This information is also contained within the Welcome Thread, which you should have read by now. So really, you have no excuse.

You must realize that the answers won't change, no matter how many names you post under.

I would appreciate a reply to this message, and I hope you will commit to using just one account - preferably your original one. If not, you will be banned from further access to the forums.
