just need some advice please

I just want to get your opinions on my risk.  I don't know her HIV status.   I inserted my penis without a condom about one to one and a half inches into her vagina for maybe 5 seconds and then pulled out.  I immediately went to the bathroom and urinated.  She then kind of road me for about 2 or 3 minutes and the head of my penis came into contact with the inside of her vulva several times.  Somewhere in all this, she bit my lip and I later licked her clitoris for about 15 seconds.  The next morning I noticed that the inside of my lower lip was bloody red but I could not tell if there was an open wound.  She was kind of resistant to having sex with a condom so I threw in the towel.  She then said a condom would be okay but I opted to go to sleep out of nervousness.  I have been in this "worried" situation once before a couple of years back and you guys helped me through it.  I have tried to be careful but I obviously slipped a bit here.

Day 6 - 10 - tension headache
Day 20 - 21 - very slight sore throat
Day 20 - 24 - nasal congestion along with drainage and a cough - nothing real bad though
Day 22 - 24 - first tingling and now pain in my left hand and lower left arm with some slight tingling in my right hand

Now at day 24 and I know that symptoms mean nothing - it just made me feel better to write them out (thanks for your patience).

Please let me know what you think about my risk level and if I should get tested at 13 weeks.

Thank you very much.

By the way, the single dad part comes from my overwhelming worry that there will be no one to take care of my daughter if something happens to me.  I know, oh the drama.  Wow, this thing can do some powerful things to your mind.

Dad,

Look you should be tested for HIV three months from the date of this sexual encounter but I need to stress that this testing is more of a technicality than anything. HIV is a very fragile virus which is difficult to transmit, particularly from female to male. I have every confidence that you will test negative for HIV.

What's more important is that you ensure you're tested for other STI's such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea. These are more transmissible and much more prevalent that HIV. You should ask your doctor to perform a full STI screen. A full will include an HIV antibody test.

Finally symptoms mean nothing when it comes to HIV infection and we don't discuss symptoms here. The only things that matter when it comes to HIV are risk behaviours and testing at the appropriate time.

Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to our Lessons to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.
