Title: A little bright spot in my Friday
Post by: AaronbytheC on August 06, 2010, 05:31:17 pm
Today is a good day  ;D

The reason I say it's a good day is my doctor called me and said my genotype came back clean, no resistance issues at all!   ;D So it looks like Atripla will be the drug of choice.  My next doctor's appointment wasn't until Thursday but she figured I could use the good news!  So thoughtful, I love my doctor!  :-*  (If she wasn't a lesbian and I wasn't gay I'd totally hit it)  hahaha

I've been in a holding pattern for the past four weeks.  I'm trying to keep a positive attitude but it's a little tough sometimes.  I keep telling myself the words some of you have told me, "this is a marathon, not a race".  I go in tomorrow for a chest x-ray, and some more blood work.  (They are going to check CD4 and one other thing that has to do with something you can have from gardening or cat litter boxes?)  Not sure why no VL, I guess because it's only been a month since my first labs and it was relatively low...  Should I ask them to do the VL or just go with my doc?

I did get ahead of the curve once I saw my first set of labs and went down and signed up for ADAP.  I have been accepted and already got my prescription card in the mail so I'm ready on the money side of the things.  Depending on the CD4 count of my second labs next week, we may wait another month before we decide to start HAART.

I think I'll go home tonight and have a glass of wine to celebrate my small victory.

Everybody have a good weekend!   :-*

Toxoplasmosis, as long as your numbers are good this is a nonissue

aaron,

that's excellent news, indeed....make it two glasses of wine ;)

i agree with mr. sexy trey, the additional test you mentioned sounds like a toxoplasmosis screening. i imagine that if the significance of another vl was something the doc felt strongly enough about they would have run it. if it's only been a month since the last one, i suppose it's negligible.

great work on having secured adap.

good luck!!!

That's it!
I'm guessing because I told her I had chickens, cats, dogs, and a few other woodland creatures running around my place they wanted to do the Toxoplasmosis test.
