INTELENCE COCKTAIL
« on: July 22, 2009, 04:06:06 pm »
Having been on almost every combination of drug's, my doctor suggested a new drug.
I was put on the trial conducted by the maker's of the drug INTELENCE. And was put on a combination of INTELENCE-etravirine tablets-100mg ( 2 pills/twice a day ). KALETRA-film-coated tablet's-250mg ( 2 pills/twice a day ). ISENTRESS-raltegravir tablets-400mg ( 1 pill/twice a day ).
I have been hiv+ for almost 30 year's, healthy with no complication's from it. My count's have gone up and down, and quite frankly they dont mean a thing to me, I get confused with all the number's, so in effect it's something I dont worry about. I was discouraged a few year's ago and told my doctor that I wanted to stop all medication, reluctantly he accepted my decision. I was off all med's for about 9 month's, but after much coaxing by both of my doctor's I went back on the drugs. Before I forget, my doctor insisted that when I was off my hiv meds, I still took APO-SULFATRIM-480mg ( 2 pills/once a day), which protect's me from getting aids related pneumonia.
I am pleased to say that I felt improvement in the first few month's of the trial, and my blood test's got better. I still dont know what my count's are, but my doctor says that I'm undetectable, and I think that's a good thing. I have to think that just because something work's on one person it does'nt have to work on another, so all we can do is make sure our doctor's try all the new drug's becoming available if the coctail's we are on stop working. I hope this has been informative for member's interested in this forum. I truly wish everyone goodluck on their journey.

In many ways, its hard to say the right thing...

It would seem that you've seen the worst of things, yet are still here to participate and for that I am truly humbled.

Thank you for sharing. To gain undetectable status and to feel better after finding the "right" combo after you had lost faith is a remarkable change in perspective.

Wow 30 years. You're a strong person.
About the intelence - I am HIV+ about a year now and also on Intelence and it works for me, too.
