so its been a year since I found out about my aids. I was in the hospital on the 4th last year so it was nice to be able to celebrate and do fireworks with the family. I am much more comfortable with having aids it dosnt bother me anymore. my health is 1000 times better. I have only disclosed to my parents and partner but I will keep it that way it is fine like that. I hardly come on this site anymore because im not so paranoid about having this illness which is good but still check it out when im bored. I have gained back the 60 or so pounds I lost while I was super sick last year my skin has cleared up. so everything is all good. thanks to all the people who responded to any of my post or pm me you all helped a lot when I needed it. and thanks pochas2 for all the advice.

 8)Hey buddy 2cells, I'm pretty happy for you, I told you it would take some time to get to the point that it is better to fight this bug than play the victim, it is what it is, we can't change we having hiv, but we do can change the attitude for a better outcome of this illnes by havinga postive (no pun intended) attitude...I'm glad you are not alone dealing with the hiv situation, its always better when you share with love ones your illness....congratulation, and I'm here if I can help you deal with this ups and downs episodes...I spend the forth in the hospital too, had chest pain and anxiety so I went to the ER to get check my little heart....everythink was OK buddy

Hi 2tcells: Thank you for posting this. I'm sure you realize this but posting such positive experiences is invaluable for the newly diagnosed. Its so reassuring to see that you have done so well to the point that you don't think about it every day. I hope I can get to the point where HIV is not the first and last thought that marks the beginnings and endings of my days.

stuka...is just matter of time, and a little bit of wanting piece of mind..don't see your meds as a reminder of you having hiv, see them as a second chance of living, because hiv/aids is still a dath sentence if you don't seek treatment and for the newly diagnosed the treatments are way to easier to take...good luck from the bottom of my heart for you and 2 cells

Im glad this post can help some people, and yes its true I hardly ever think about my bug I can even have sex without being paranoid. ( using a condom of course ) but I would be using anyways since I already have 2 kids. And I got a big pamphlet from ssi and thought "good thing I have aids", try and kick me off now lol. It definitely gets much easier with time

I am curious to know where your CD4 is this summer and if you are still on Bactrim or another prophylactic, and how you feel on a daily basis.

Bactrim is the on prophylactic im on. I feel good everyday, I didnt get on disability from aids I been on it for along time before I got dx. I dont know what my cd4 is rightnow I will find out in a couple months when I have another appointment I think its probably going up, not to worried about it I take my meds on time everytime so it should be improving

Hi 2t's,

Glad to hear your doing well and hope it gets even better too.. Being able to not dwell on our diagnoses and live a normal happy life is what its all about  ;)

Although it sometimes is great to forget the forums for awhile, its also good to come back and know that we are not alone with this disease, especially when things are not going our way.

Since we last spoke my cd4's went down a little bit but its to be expected sometimes (next test in Aug) .. But the good news is since I switched meds I have been feeling a lot better :D

It takes a little bit of time for your immune system to recover epecially if it went doown to 13, my was in 20, so, be pacienced like 2tcel has been and you two will see your numbers go up, mine did, so I wish you two lots of luck and discipline by taken your meds the right way     ojo
