My social worker frightened the life out of me the other week by telling me I should take my meds 'to the minute', and that the reason I was already 'half way through the meds I could be offered' is that I'd been taking them wrongly.
first lot sustiva gave me stephens-johnsons syndrome, second lot gave me the screaming shits and now I'm fairly set with ritonavir,kivexa and invirase. Its a bugger of a pill load and I'm only 6 months into taking meds. They ARE working, viral load 50 and CD4 347 but I've noticed the joint pain's coming back and I'm KNACKERED.
Guess what I'm asking is how compliant should I be? Is an hour either way Ok? Have been running around like a demented hamster in a wheel recently,making sure I'm on time. Do I have to let the bastard annoying things run my life like this?

Within an hour of the "to the minute" time. Because of the Kivexa really. The Invirase gives you a little more leeway, like up to 2 hours. Truvada instead of Kivexa would be more forgiving, and also, since you are on a PI, better cholesterol wise (cos it contains tenofovir which lowers blood fats a little/stops PIs raising them so much, not quite sure are we why).
