I hear you there Dan. I left Lisa's this morning and it was humid as hell down her way. It is overcast here today in the mountains and 91 and 53% humidity.
I also had a new heat pump installed about three weeks ago and the damn thing stopped working now back to a window AC. Living in a trailer with a tin roof can get very hot with AC. :o

Oh Dan, I remember what that feels like, and I don't miss the Southern summers I grew up with.

I am about 40 miles outside of Greensboro and it's 98 here. I made sure all the chickens and cats have water and Robert is not allowed outside. Too hot for a 4 yo or anybody for that matter. On the plus side, this kind of weather always means one certain thing:

I can't help but be a fan of the Georgia summertime- even with these temperatures.
That's about the only benefit of hot weather, hot guys with no shirts. YAH!!! Cristy(who appreciates beauty wherever she finds it)

It's ninety and humid here with a heat index of 100. By thrusday it's calling for 96 degrees and heat index of 105. So we'll have the heat emergency all week long this week. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have the humidity of 58%. I can handle the heat as long as it's dry. It makes it to hard for me to breath, so I just stay inside. Everyone, try to keep cool the best you can.

We have some slight reprieve here today at only 85°F/28°C, though tomorrow we will go up to an abysmal 97°F which I believe will be the hottest day thus far this season.

I'm 30 miles NW of DC, in Maryland. Its 90degrees with a heat index of 98. I couldn't believe it was ONLY 90 out! The air is heavy and think, damn humidity and dew points get to me really easily.
For the first time ever, the Weather Channel has an air advisory posted "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups." I have never seen this, but this damn air just won't move! I have my AC set on 69 ;D

We just had a thunder storm coming at us and the damn thing petered out. Any other time we would have got nailed. Now you know it's getting bad when the thunder storms peter out. One good thing, I don't have to cut grass. :D

You and me both, Currently we are at 87 degrees. We got to 92 degrees today with a heat index of 101. Some people think that because I live in Florida, I should be used to all this heat. Not necessarily so !! I work in AC, I live in AC, My car has AC. You just kind of accept it here and go through it every summer, and try to stay in the AC ! 8)

I work outside in the summer, I believe this is the most humid day we've had yet.

What I would give for a temp in the 80's or 90's with a nice dose of humidity in the 70 or 80's. I detest winter, cold weather and short days. At least there is a crystal clear blue sky outside.

Monday wasn't so bad in New York after a beautiful Sunday...But Tuesday it is supposed to be 95 with high humidity...And none of you really knows what true heat is unless you have spent 3 or more minutes on a New York city subway platform waiting for a train!!!

Jody, the heat off the buildings at night is horrible let alone the day time. I always think of the fire fighters and EMS personnel that have to climb flights of stairs there. I have heat exhaustion thinking about it. Try to stay cool the best you can.

Fearless~ What I wouldn't GIVE to have your weather! I am a Fall/Winter girl. It is supposed to be even hotter in the Washington, DC Metro area on Wednesday!

It got up to 97 here today and I don't know what the heat index was. I just know it was HOT. The city pools opened there doors for free as long as the heat emergency is going on.

NOTHING and I mean NOTHING compares to heat and humidity in New York City particularly when you go into the subway and its 10 degrees + and then luck into a subway car packed with people and no a/c.
Of course none of that is a fun as the lovely aroma that NYC streets get as dog shit, drunk's urine and garbage which had long since baked into the city streets over the years suddenly arise in a sort of olfactory resurrection.

Finally... the heat will break here. It's only forecast to go to 87°F and then it will break with storms in the afternoon and continuing all night long. I hope we don't get weird tornados like they did in Brooklyn yesterday -- did you hear about that? It was the first recorded tornado to ever touch down there.

Our weather in Houston just got back to normal. We have had our first run of mid 90s and 6000 percent humidity this summer. The past few months have the been the coolest here in my past thirty years. I guess thats why we havent been hearing much from the warmers. My electricity and water bills are at all time lows for this time of year.
I love it. I walked three miles twice yesterday and also hit a couple hundred golf balls at lunch time.
I wouldnt be surprised to see some activity in the gulf with this kind of heat. Nothing beats a good hurricane to cool things off.

Here in Melbourne, Australia we have had a reasonably mild winter, the lowest maximum temperature was about 12 degrees Celsius, that is roughly 50 F. Nights are getting down as low as 43F. We can usually have some 0C = 32F = freezing overnight with maximums as low as 38F (something like that).
95F? That is only a little bit warm. I would really trade?????

An amazing cold front just suddenly dropped the temperature to 65F (from the upper 80's earlier) in the past hour. The odd thing is just an hour or so from here to the south it's still 90F -- and an 1.5 hours north it's 52F in the Poconos.

Temperature got up to 86 degrees here in Hawaii today before the trade winds cooled it down.
0 degrees C is freezing, 32 degrees F is freezing, in HAWAII 69 degrees F is freezing. If it's below 69 it's below 0.
Somehow no one on the mainland seems sympathetic when we get hot temperatures (over 86F) or freezing temperatures (below 69F).
So quit complaining about the heat and come on over <big smile>

It's in the mid 80s (the air). I brought a portable air conditioning unit for $420, which I will return to Home Depot when it cools down, that is about 60 days after buying it, and exchange for a heater. Thanks Home Depot!

Nope. You can stay. It's a well known fact that you folks have experienced some of this with us- and what you lack here, you make up for with some serious winter. It stays generally sunny in the mid 70's to mid 80's in San Diego, though. And that makes it a bannable (sp?) offense.
