« on: June 02, 2018, 04:53:12 am »
I am 47 yrs old from India . Started treatment 3 years back with Duovir e kit Lamivudine (150mg) + Zidovudine (300mg) + Efavirenz (600mg) started this at cd4 206 then cd4 increased to highest of 1186 and cd4%40% . Because of this increase I thought I m doing well but latest cd4 results were shocking 364 and cd4% 14 . Doctor prescribed to take Teevir from today Teevir and atripla are same I think . Tensed y this much drop in cd4 and I took last my cd4 test in September 2017 . Anyone faced situation like this this much drop my mind is not working .

Hiya

Your CD4 count is not the end of the world, more to the point what was the VL like?

Teevir is indeed Atripla  (Efavirenz/emtricitabine/tenofovir)

Do you mean you had developed resistance to the old regime and you hope that it is not going to interfere with the new meds ? Sorry to hear that you developed resistance BTW.

Good luck with the switch in meds and keep us posted.

As I m tensed about my result went to the new hospital met new doctor he said he wants to cross check cd4 test and I insisted to test Viral load damn viral load test is costly in India 😔😔 but I decided to test Viral load too waiting for my results . Mostly on Saturday or Monday results will come but new doctor assured me there are lots of new drugs available there will be no problem Hope so there will be no problem

Well that's good news about the new clinc opening and the doctor is right there are other combinations available should it be needed.

Plenty of forum members have taken or still take atripla.

Just remember unless told otherwise to take this on an empty stomach and best dosing time is at bedtime with plenty of water.

Keep us posted.

Generic versions of tivicay and descovy are now available in India branded as dolutegravir and tafero-em,  manufactured by hetero healthcare ltd.  Available almost in all cities at Rs 4k ie around $70, for a month's course of both. Your meds appear to be older but if it works for you, well and good. Stay safe and healthy.

ART centers have also been started by the Central govt in all states. Besides there are also many NGOs imparting treatment and counseling in many cities. The much needed support for tackling HIV has been initiated by the government. You can walk in to any of these centers who also ensures confidentiality. Very positive development that the government has started taking effective steps  in india
