I don't know about Florida's senators, but one named George LeMieux
was on c-span claiming Dade county has 7% of all the countries hiv folks,
while raking in 83% of the countries total hiv healthcare costs.
He claims people are sitting in warehouses, running the numbers,
ripping off the system, raking in the money.

Naturally, he's against Obama's healthcare reform.
So just blame the hiv folks and fraud for high healthcare costs.
Hey George... u checked the cost of hiv meds...lately...ever?
(pardon me while I get back to swiping the numbers... George)   ::)

Do people really actually elect these $%@#-ing guys into office?  :o

Lemieux wasn't voted in by anyone.  He was appointed by Charlie Crist when former Senator Mel Martinez pulled a Sarah Palin and quit before his term was over.

Well the fucker can't be dog whistling in the lead up to the 2010 FL Senate race. He's not going to contest his seat.

Must just be a bigot.

I live in Florida - and as much of a paradise as it is in terms of weather - it is a backwards, conservative, Bible belt state -- with corrupt politics and politicians.  It is one of the only states without a state income tax (which makes paychecks a little bigger) but causes us to rank last in education, etc, etc.  They are also a state that has the potential to be one of the richest in the US -- lots of wealth here - but are cheap and spend bare minimum on anything -- except lining their own pockets.  Still, when I go out in my shorts to the pool each year on New Year's Day and hit the beaches in February for some sun all is suddenly and stupidly forgiven   :-\

I am confused - counties our countries??
I guess you mean always counties.  So how on earth do 7% of state's (?) HIV+ people get 83% of the state's money?

Anyway, statistics aside, you know thats standard hate speech. I was just thinking about this topic today when I heard people are lobbying to have Ronald Reagan on the 50 USD bill.  That creep never wanted to say the word AIDS cause it made him too uneasy I guess.  Butt fuckers and Haitians and drug dealers, who cared?

Depending on which report you look at, Florida schools rank anywhere between 14th and 30th in terms of public education, well above states, including California, with high state income taxes. However, we do rank 38th in terms of the the amount money we spend on our public education system.

Florida sucks. I know, I grew up there. In Ormond Beach.

Ormond Beach= retired, independently wealthy people living in golfing communities. Super conservative. Super boring.

I heard the A-Hole and it felt like a direct attack against HIV people to gain support for the A-Hole Republicans.  I guess he will go far in that community.
