Hello first of all thanks a lot to answer my question in advance

I had protected sex with spa therapist which status is unknown but she is currently living with her family and child .
I had sex with her for 15/20 seconds
I used topical
Delay spray on penis head which make my penis less sensitive

As an inserting partner I ejaculated inside her and sex lasted for 15/20 seconds and as I pull out my penis I saw the sperm is no where inside the condom and only head of penis was covered

When I saw the condom after the act I saw condom has been tore from just below the head of penis

Unfortunately I was unable to make a decision and after 36 hrs of sex I took pep and it’s been 5 days I m on pep

My questions pls answer me —-

1. Do I need to continue pep on this situation or should I discontinue using pep (m on 7th day today )

2.What if my head was covered by condom but her vaginal secretions travel through that tore part of condom to my urethra

3. please say me is pep safe if I continue it unnecessarily for 28 days it’s it going to give me fever or any big problem after I complete it ..till now I m on sixth day I m facing itching just now.
But on the first day I felt very tired and low

Hiya,

I read your post three times. You had intercourse with a sex worker, used a condom badly and during intercourse the condom broke, afterwards, you started PEP within 36 hours. That's what I got out of your story.

PEP is highly effective and I suspect you will be fine when you test to confirm your HIV status. Test to confirm your HIV status six weeks after finishing PEP with a blood draw (lab) HIV antibody test. A non-reactive result at that time would rarely change, and retesting at three months is generally unnecessary.

PEP is generally safe and easy to take.

It's 2024 not the 90s and aside from settling in you should not be expecting issues. Continue the course now you have started it but, do see your healthcare provider asap so they can assess the itching.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV and get vaccinated against HPV, Hepatitis A & B.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

Some tips on correct condom usage:

Use approved condoms and check for a certification mark (e.g. FDA, C.E., ISO or Kitemark) because the condom complies with safety standards. Check the expiry date and make sure the condom is still within date.

Use lubricant condom-safe water-based lubricants to make condoms more comfortable and reduce breakage risk. – but avoid oil-based lubricants as they can weaken or break condoms.

As for putting the condom on correctly:

Incorrectly done, the risk of breakage can increase. Place the condom on top of the erect penis and pinch the teat at the end of the condom before you start to roll it down the penis. By doing this, you'll squeeze out any air bubbles and ensure there is room for the semen (cum). Roll the condom down to the base of the penis.

If it's on correctly, it will roll downwards easily. If you've started putting it on the wrong way, take it off, and even if you or your partner has not ejaculated (cum), there can still be semen or (pre-cum), so it's important to try again with a new condom. (More to do with risks from other STI's/pregnancy than anything else)

Hold the base of the condom when pulling out after intercourse to prevent leaving it behind and exposing your partner.

Finally, never "test" the condom before or after intercourse. It's not needed at all and could damage the condom, as it's not designed as a reusable (re-stressed) product, and "testing" the condom could lead you to mistakenly think that the condom was damaged during sex when in fact, you caused the damage after the intercourse by trying to "test" it.

Instead, use condoms correctly and consistently. If they don't break during intercourse, there is no reason to stress or test for HIV outside of standard yearly screening.

I hope the doctor who prescribed the PEP explained it better than this pharmacy doctor.

PEP is prescribed for people who may have been exposed to HIV during sex (for example, if the condom broke), shared needles, syringes, or other equipment to inject drugs, or were sexually assaulted. You were correctly prescribed PEP after having a broken condom.

Just for your own information: if your partner was HIV+, had been adherent to their HIV meds, and had had an undetectable viral load for 6 months, they could no longer transmit HIV to you. The pharmacy doctor was very incorrect in saying that PEP was only given if a partner had HIV.

PEP does not build up HIV antibodies. It does not cause a false positive. It does not cause you to continue taking HIV meds for the rest of your life.

I hope all this helps you not worry any more about doing the right thing (getting PEP after condom breakage). After completing the 28 day course of PEP, remember to get tested again in 6 weeks.

Have a good day,
Michael

Reducing Your HIV risks:
With no exceptions, use condoms correctly and consistently for anal or vaginal intercourse
Talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP as another layer of protection

Get tested yearly for HIV and other STIs.
If you don’t use condoms and/or PrEP, test more frequently

Some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other more easily acquired STIs. It is possible to show no signs or symptoms from an STI so testing is the only way to know.

Get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

What’s the ONLY way to know if you’ve been infected by HIV or an STI?
Get tested.

My post has been removed coz I have exposed pep

Why admin why you deleting my post

Pls have same respect to reply

My question I am repeating again

—-hello everyone  l recently came to know that .Pep medicines are only given by doctor when your parter is confirmed hiv positive

You don’t need to take it if you are unsure because once you take it ..it will create hiv antibodies in your body which will lead to give false positive result and you will be entitled to take it for life time ..

Your post has not been removed. Its there for everyone to see, now, its prehaps batshit crazy but it has not been removed and your accusation towards me as admin and the conspiracy theory tone about PEP are baseless and disgusting.

Prehaps you and the "pharmacist" have been spending too much time togather? In short, your story is that your doctor, a qualified MD gave you PEP based on an medical assessment, guidelines and medical knowledge but based some glorified shop assistant concerns you are now stressed... ::)

I will be honest, I do not believe you when you claim a pharmacist said this to you, although i know some pharmacist are idiots, but what you have posted so far and the post titles that I have now updated, all reek of AIDS denialism playbook.

Pretending there is some truth to your story for a moment, PEP as Micheal has explained does not give you HIV or cause HIV antibodies to be produced and doesn't cause you to take HIV meds for life.

HIV antibodies are produced in responce to an HIV infection and PEP is a course of meds, that tries to block HIV from completing its lifecycle post exposure, thus preventing it from taking hold. PEP ins't new and has been around since the late 90s and first guidelines issued in the early 2000s. (See nPEP / oPEP)

In theory, taking PEP could cause delayed detection if it fails to prevent HIV from taking hold (Blunted HIV Infection), but this is why testing guidelines are applied post finishing PEP instead of post exposure date, as Micheal and I have already explained, but to be clear I will explain this again, test to confirm your HIV status six weeks after finishing PEP with a blood draw (lab) HIV antibody test. A non-reactive result at that time would rarely change, and retesting at three months is generally unnecessary.

You asked for respect, well we gave you respect in our initial answers and time we put into them, but in return we got this, so do not return to the forum unless you first are willing to apologize to both of us.
