Las Vegas!!!
« on: April 22, 2014, 12:05:27 pm »
I decided that I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!I have given myself 5 months to try harder to get healthier, try to motivate myself and OMG finally taken the big step to book a holiday!!LOL
..bearing in mind I'm still paying debts,
but can actually pay this  holiday in installments without a c card.
I've been thinking about this for ages .I might just be okay in Vegas because if I need to sleep in the day  for an hour or two ,who is going to care?!!

I don't need to fully pay  until July ,so  have enough time to save up ...or
 just lose a deposit.

Anyway ,just wanted to let you know my plans so that you can remind me of my diet and healthy eating plans ......and most of all tell me to go!

Have a great vacation.  I would so love to visit Vegas sometime.  It was always so far away.  I had never even been on a plane until I started attending AMG's.

I'm paying debts and they are about to get termite-damage huge, but I'm going to Vegas in July and I won't be stopped, not even because I'm typing on a mobile device because my laptop had sex with my partner's iPad and got a virus.

When will you go? I will be there mid-month and am going to the Lady Gaga concert. We can totally hang out if you're there at the same time! I know some cool local getaways and I have friends there.

Holla!

I hope you enjoy and have a super time!  You need this.

I just went to Vegas last year.  When you go you need to go to the Excaliber Hotel to see the "Thunder from Down Under."  If you can't see the show, the male strippers will do pics and you can purchase all or one of them for a small fee.

Ask anyone who's seen my pic of me with the male strippers, well worth it!

Plan on seeing:

Hoover Dam
Valley of Fire
Bryce Canyon
Zion
Valley of Death

There is a pass that gets you into all of them for free.  Do not miss these places :)

For shows:

Love - The Beatles, was worth it.
Mo5aic
Jubilee

Restaurant:

Marche Bacchus

You're welcome :)

The closest I think is Hoover Damn, then I would make sure to see Valley of Fire.  When you go through the Valley of Fire make sure you take the road by the visitor center.  As soon as you drive up the road between the mountains there is grand view of the road twisting and turning through the mountain valley.  It's an amazing sight!

Do NOT miss the restaurant!  I had a 21$ burger at the Aria that tasted udderly horrible!  There are no words on how good this place is (Marche Bacchus).  Just see for yourself.

Jubilee is a classic style vegas show with the women in Peacock outfits.  After you get past the bear breasts of the dancers you will really start to appreciate the outfits :)

Zion and Bryce are about 4hrs away but worth it if you can do it.  And if you do see Bryce Canyon make sure you go to Bryce point, it's the best view :)

Ok, gtg, ttyl!

When I went to Vegas, I stayed at New York, New York.  It was like a small city.  Many things to see, and it has a roller coaster that goes all the way around it, on the outside of course of course.

I also allotted myself only so much per day for gambling, as I lost a large amount the first couple days.

Yes, my avatar.  Just don't forget to check out what I mentioned previously about the show/male strippers.  It's worth it.

I'm sure you'll have a blast.

How fun, Betty! I'm actually staying at Excalibur for my July trip...it was a good deal considering I'm staying by myself and won't be spending much time in my room. I wonder if the Thunder Boys will let me take a picture like yours with them??

I've yet to take the outlying sightseeing opportunities, but I've done plenty fun stuff on my past trips. anniebc, willywump, Robert and me all jumped off the Stratosphere a few years ago...there's pictures and video to prove it. Santi and I rode the rollercoaster at New York New York last year. It rained one day when we rode on the monorail with Bonnie and the Davids. I'm currently looking into whether I can take a pram onto the new Ferris Wheel so that I can treat Abbey and her new baby to a ride on it.

If I had any advice for a newbie to Vegas, it would be to think about how much you want to walk. Everything looks close, there, but everything's so huge that it's deceptive. Santi and I walked from the Riviera to Planet Hollywood one evening. I kept thinking, oh, it's not that far, look, I can already see the Ventian! 45 minutes later, we could still see the Venetian but we hadn't reached it. Cabs aren't cheap but are worth it if you need to get from one end of the Strip to the other, but there is also a free train on the southwest side that goes from Mandalay Bay I think all the way to New York New York. It's quite handy for being free. Also, you can't walk across every intersection, especially on the south end of the Strip. Sometimes you have to walk a k or two on pedestrian ways just to get across the damn street.

I want to get a massage in Las Vegas (legit, ladies) but I'm scared of hiring someone off craigslist.orgy.  I found this place through Yelp, and I'm thinking about taking Abbey's husband there for a Boys' Day after taking Abbey for Girls' Night (I am the boy and the girl here.) I think us boys need a massage and body scrub from time to time, especially him because he'll have 5 months of baby germs on his dermis by the time I get there.

Cheers  Jeff and BT65!

Its 4am here UK time and I'm wide awake.Must still be on Vegas time ...8 hrs being UK time!
Where to start?!!
What an adventure!!!I was stopped at customs in Atlanta .....and missed my connection to Vegas.......no worries though as there were 2 later flights. As soon as I opened my bag at the inspection hall....showed my labelled meds as requested everything was ok.

Dinner at TGI Fridays , in Atlanta airport.... met some great people....landed in Vegas at 9 pm and got to my bed at 6 am.........won 40 dollars on a slot machine.......then promptly slept for 10 hours
Circus Circus was good for me.....as I could eat, sleep etc when I wanted.I always wake up in the middle of the night...so could go out and about whenever.

Only stayed up all night twice..wish I was 21 again!!!!!!!Went downtown to local bars....so much fun...great company......could have got into so much trouble........mad taxi ride......where the Ethiopian driver was trying to persuade me to run off and get married........

Cocktails galore....declined the tequila shots though as I did not want a massive hangover!!!Food...especially salads.......amazing!!!!!!

Grand Canyon and Hoover dam amazing........trip back from there in storm slightly scary!!!!
Made great friends,men....not telling!!!!!

All in all.....fantastic for my confidence and well being. My only regret is waiting till my 40s To go there ,also that I couldn't party like its 1999!Came back through Detroit Airport then had a 9 hour bus journey from London....and another crazy taxi ride from Glasgow.Got home at 2 am in the morn!!!
Still jet lagged...but it was worth it,also my leg pain etc seems to feel better, not sure if it was due to the climate or just being able to relax.

I've got 4 more days  before I'm back at work...so its great to have time to rest and catch up on sleep.

Still catching up on Poz threads too.

The streets are paved with gold and boxes of wine grow on trees !

I was offered an all expenses paid trip there years ago.  I was too horrified of flying to accept.  Truly regret it now.  Especially since I've learned flying isn't that difficult.  OH, and I thought wine grew on vines?

Passed the Stratosphere quite a few times.......there's always next time!It looked fabulous....I think no matter how long you stay in Vegas you would never be able to fit everything in.

It certainly stands out and I  had a sneaky peek at the website too.........AGM......2015 anyone?!!!!!!!!!
Can you imagine it?!!!!!!
Weather nice here in the UK today...70 f...but it can't compare to last Saturday in Vegas.....approx 103 f.......

Brithickxxx

I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow. We plan to eat all we can!
I hope you have a good time when you go! I don't know about your diet, but food is part of a vacation. That's only my opinion so if you need to stick to a diet for your health don't listen to what I say! There are other things except my family and I don't drink alcohol or gamble. So we like to walk around and of course eat. \
I am also hoping the Ferris wheel is up and working.

We are going to Las Vegas tomorrow too! I am looking forward to the food and lounging poolside. We are staying at the Vdara, which we really like. It is smoke-free, doesn't have a casino and has a relaxing vibe. It is also know for it's death ray, which I personally experienced.

Glad you had fun Brit.  I can't believe it's been almost a year since I was in Las Vegas.  We stayed at New York, New York, and it was like a small city.  Lots of fun, kept myself on a stipend for gambling, and there's plenty of sight seeing.

It would be fun to go back someday.  There are so many places I would like to visit, now if I can just find someone who will pay all the expenses for me to travel lol.
