Stupid Act with CSW - Killing anxiety
« on: September 22, 2017, 12:14:36 pm »
Hello, I have a sexual encounter with a Asian commercial sex worker in Bahrain very recently, I had two vaginal intercourses proceeded by oral. The whole process was fully protected by a condom. The first intercouse only lasted less than 5 min while the second one tool around 15 min. I fingered her vagina for couple of minutes as well. The condom was not break or slip during the whole process and I don’t have any cut in my fingers. I’m very worried about HIV infection now, I cannot sleep at night even. Is there a chance of catching HIV? Do I need to get tested? Can I have sex with my wife safely? I think waiting three month to get a conclusive result is going to be very very hard.

Hi

Fingering is not a risk, nobody has ever been infected this way. The intercourse was protected and receiving a BJ is not a risk either, nobody has ever been infected from getting his penis sucked.

Sure, just use a condom to protect yourself from HIV and test at least yearly for STI's

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

So bottom line: I have nothing to worry about and I don't need any HIV test.

sorry for being so persistent but I cannot study, work or even sleep.

Asked and answered.

In short, nothing you mentioned here about the incident was a risk for HIV transmission.

Going forward continue to use condoms for any anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions and remember to test at least yearly for HIV and easier to transmit STI's

Thank you for the reply, I've discovered that the CSW has used a Chinese made condom, i dont know if the chinese condoms are trust worthy. as I said before I know it didn't slip or break but can it fail in any other way?

I know that I'm paranoid but I have a wonderful wife who I trust and cannot have sex with her using a condom.

Its changes nothing to the answer.
