CSI New York Feb 14th (Postponed)
« on: December 31, 2006, 09:23:04 pm »
I can't remember if I've already posted this so I'll post now just to be sure. As most of you know another AIDSMEDS member (PDXRon31) started a Yahoo group for PML survivors and their supporters.
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/PMLSurvivors/
A member from that group posted somehing I think members in the forums might be interested in. I checked with him and he said it was ok that I post in the forums.

......I thought you'd like to know that the show CSI New York, which airs
on Wednesdays, 10pm EST, will be doing a show in which a central
character has PML. (I am not kidding you.) It is set to air on
February 14th, 2007.

They had contacted us recently to obtain some information about PML,
and just now advised us about when the show will air. I thought you
might like to advise your friends and/or acquaintances from your PML
site--one never hears about this disorder, but it is suddenly getting
some publicity.

I don't know if you've ever watched any of the CSI programs--they are
dramatizations about crime scene investigating and can be quite
graphic. I have no idea how graphic this particular show will be or
what the actual story line is, so I can't advise if it will be
disturbing to you or your colleagues. However, PML will at least be
discussed and given some publicity for a change.

Sincerely,
National Organization for Rare Disorders

Hey Jeff...

It is quite interesting that you brought this up as it will further our Education on other disorders that exist today in this life. This is definitely an aired program to mark on our calender.

Thank you for taking your time out to share this with us. Happy New Year!

According to the CSI contact they have changed the scheduling of their episodes, and
that the PML episode has been postponed. He was unable to give a
firm date. I'll post the new date once posted on the PML survivor yahoo group.

Confessed CSI junkie sez...

"Wed 14th CSI NY
Heart of Glass
Programme 63, Series 3
Mac may have a difficult time solving the murder of a music mogul the sister cleverly uses a lie detector test to cover up the crime. Stella wonders if she has AIDS due to an accident". (from TV.com)

Oh boy, a dumb occupational transmission storyline.  From the trailer looks like smart pathologist loses it n cuts herself on some bloody glass (yeah, like she would...), rather than has lapse of judgement in a bar after a martini too many and shags a hottie without a condom.  WW form posters betta roll up their sleeves.  Seems like the occupational exposure storyline will run (and run) from the promo for the following episode (The Ride- In).

But what do you expect from a series where they get a perfect fingerpint off a flower petal.... (which is why I like it, fiction science  :))
