Excuse me but...yippie skippy.  So we FINALLY lift the ban and now we get to hold an international conference here?  Big fat hairy deal.  What we really need is one more fancy-schmacy conference were AIDS Inc., PhARMA, Political hacks disguised as HRSA/CDC all skip around tra-la-la and have 'heady' discussions about all the awful news related to HIV and how the ONLY thing that will make everything better is more money to funs higher salaries for the AIDS Hob-knobbers.

I'm sorry...

I don't want another blasted conference--I want a cure...I want my friends back...I want federally funded syringe exchange...I want effective comprehensive HIV prevention for MSM...I want an end to ADAP waiting lists.

Notice the irony of holding this conference in DC.  This city just misappropriated millions of dollars worth of HIV care funding and as of last night, members of Housing Works were put in jail for attempting to see the Mayor to discuss these issues.

Its beyond time for HIV advocacy to turn away from this red-carpet mentality of political cliques and free lunches and get BACK to advocating for the hard issues in HIV. 

Just the opinion of a LTS who is still engaged in advocacy.
