Persistent SKIN Issue/Sensitive Skin/Moisturizer
« on: July 11, 2007, 12:24:39 am »
About three years ago I developed a bad case of what looked at first like acne and quickly turned into what looked like rosacea. Doctors didn't understand it, didn't think it was HIV related. I think it is. A dermatologist gave me antibiotics and creams to no avail. To date, it has not been definitively diagnosed.

Now, three years later and a few months on meds, the problem is not as bad as a year ago, but my cheeks remain reddish in some light, darkened at other times. It just doesn't look healthy to me.

I'm trying to describe as much of this as I can to get some good feeback. If it's mosturizer you are thinking of: I have deathly sensitive skin. I used to use Oil of Olay Sensitive Skin until they SNEAKED aloe in the mix and I think this aggravated my skin woes. NO ALOE, FRIENDS.

Anyone have any suggestions???

I'd suggest doing a search on the forums here for "seborrheic dermatitis" and see if any of the discussion sounds appropriate, and of course doing a google search with that, and perhaps adding "HIV" to it will give your further more clinical information.  It's very common with HIV.
