So this came as a total surprise to me.  I've been poz 4 years, no meds.  My CD4 has always been between 500 - 800 with a VL between 22000 - 35000, %35+.  Today my CD4 was 583 with a VL of 735 and a % of 43....now how the hell did my VL take such a substantial drop with no meds?

I have no idea what that really means but with results like yours I'd be dancing in the streets!  Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Do you do anything regularly like exercise, yoga, meditation, primal screaming, etc. or take vitamins and minerals or drink green tea or take colloidal silver (joke!) or anything that might help account for your great numbers?  I'd like to send you immediately to the NIH to be studied gene by gene, molecule by molecule, to find out what the secret of your success is!

Anyway, excuse the rant and congratulations once again!

P.S.  I see you've listed positive thinking as a candidate so I will immediately increase my positive thoughts by 100% and adjust up or down accordingly.

I really do think positive thinking and less stress can improve your CD4 counts. When I told my sister I was positive she turned pale and got severely ill just because she is a worrier by nature and stayed sick for two weeks. When I told her things were going well she felt better. lol.

Thank you all for your kind words.  I really don't have a clue what I'm doing other than my outlook on the situation.  I have high blood pressure which I take meds for, I did quit smoking and have gained *cough* 34 pounds in the last six months (which I definitely needed), not to mention I work in a hospital with sick people...so who knows  :D

Hey Charlie--thanks for posting.  You give someone like me hope.  I am newly diagnosed and not looking to be on meds for the foreseeable future (touch wood.)  Way to go!

I heard a very similar story about a guy who worked as a nurses aide on a surgical floor.
He was hiv poz too.  Apparently unbeknownst to him at the time, one of his patients that he had to give enemas to was actually the hiv fairy godmother---(who is actually thought to be a drag queen.)  Anyway a few weeks later when he had his labs drawn the same thing happened as with you.  I heard this happened in FL too.  Thought it was just one of those urban legends you hear about, but who knows. ;D
