FLU/COLD...
« on: December 31, 2006, 05:37:37 pm »
The down side of my family not knowing my HIV status is that I had no warning that my niece was sick until it was probably too late.  The day after X-mas I was SICK as HELL with a fever up to 103 (I guess that's 39.4 Celsius?)  Feeling much better now and no more fever, but that kicked my ass... it started with some horrible cough/chest thing.  Whew!

The nice thing was that my Mom got sick the same time and we were sick buddies for a week, which was very sweet, she in her chair and I sprawled out on the couch while she introduced me to all her televisual obsessions.

I wish you all peace and accumulating health in the new year!!

Drew

Been getting flu shots since my diagnosis - haven't had the flu since.  don't miss out on one if you doc says it's ok to do it.  Glad you're feeling better.

I went to a holiday party at a co-worker's house and she had her 4-year-old son with her. Everyone finds out 2 hours into the party he has 102 degree fever and has been sick for a couple of days. So two of my coworkers and I end up getting sick even though we all had the flu shot. I was out of work for a week. One of my coworkers was in the hospital for 4 days. I'm still coughing occasionally but so glad to be over it. I wish people would think before going out in public when contagious. I've been kidding people that Emily brought her son, cheese dip and the plague to the party.

Yes, I AM Supporting You!

Hey Drew...

That is quite a curve ball that you have caught during the holidays. You may want to consider drinking some tea with Honey & Lemon to kind of break things up for you. Make it all nice and hot while you cuddle up on the couch watching your favorite TV show.

Get better and monitor what is going on and I am sending you my BEST wishes just as well my friend for you to get better and recover from this. You are a survivor and you are strong young man. This too shall pass.

Take care of YOU and Happy New Year!

BECAUSE It IS ALL Within YOU to WIN!!!
