Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Transmision through Mocous Membrane

Dear Experts,

My only Incident:
I was fingering a prostitute. Suddenly I felt itchy in my eyelids.
I rubbed my eyelids with the finger I used for the fingering incident.
Can the transmision happened that way?
I learn that HIV can be transmitted trough mucous membrane?

That is a not uncommon event and I have never known of transmission to occur in such a manner. I don't expect you to make history by becoming the first. HIV is a fragile virus and is not passed in that manner.

Please excuse me, but what do you mean with "that is a not uncommon event"?
Which event do you refer to with the "not uncommon; is it the rubbing my eyelids with the finger (which I have used for fingering), or,
 the event of hiv transmission through eyelids' mocous membrane?

In case that those rubbing my eyelids with the post-fingering finger is the only incident I have, shall I concern and get HIV test for those incident?

Please advise.

Andy was referring to touching your eyelid after/during fingering, performing oral sex on a woman, or any other sexual activity. The fluids in a female which are considered infectious are located DEEP within the vagina, closer to the cervix area. Even if you were Gene Simmons, you would not be able to reach those fluids with your mouth or finger.

And even if you did, vaginal fluids have never been linked to HIV infection outside the body. Not ever.

There is no reason to get tested. There IS ample reason to educate yourself about what HIV is, what it does (and how) and under what - specific and limited - circumstances.
