Title: Really Worried
Post by: somethingwrong on May 28, 2012, 05:21:48 am
Hi,

I am a 36 year old male and really stressed this time. On 14th March i had a encounter with a pros in Singapore Geylang brothel. She performed unprotected oral sex and rimming on me. There was no insertive (anal or vaginal) sex at all. My worry is i have a anal fistula that was healing when the lady performed rimming on me. Since  the day i have come back from Singapore within 3-4 days onwards i have been feeling very lethargic even before all the other symptoms (given below) started popping up.
After 3 weeks i had some pain in my lower abdomen and slight burning on tip my penis and my doctor conducted routine blood (cbc), urine and stool test and found i have amibiasis. He started giving me high dosage of antibiotics. The anti-biotics did not reduce my pain so i went to a gasteroentrologist and she stopped all my antibiotics and diagnosed me with IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome). With her medicines my abdominal pain reduced almost 90% and burning penis disappeared. During this period i also had a episode of common cold and body ache. No fever at all. The cold went away after treatment in 7 days. But i started to have pain in my throat...no redness. I also met up with a Virologist (sex disease specialist) and he mentioned that there is nothing that has happened which puts me to risk for which i need to worry and that i don't need any testing. So since my lethargy and body ache was not reducing and i was feeling very depressed i asked to take a thyroid test...and to my surprise i turned out to be hypothyroid. I am on thyroid medications since 15th May and have been asked to take a test after 6 weeks again....and she mentioned i have some swelling in my throat which maybe due to my thyroid. Also Suddenly my penis burning has started once again for last 3-4 days. Urine test negative.

Now my worry is that should i be worried about HIV looking at my exposure i had....at this time i am completely out of my mind thinking about HIV all the time. I cannot concentrate on work, family and thinking about my episode all the time. Please help!!!

There is absolutely no HIV risk here. Saliva is NOT an infectious fluid.

Whatever is going on with you has nothing to do with HIV. As JK has said nothing you are reporting of your activities would have put you at risk for HIV.

If your listlesness or other symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. This is not an HIV situation. Period. And there's no need for HIV testing.

Glad to hear it. You've no cause for concern about HIV.
