I too got my sixth COVID vaccination/booster (if I am counting correctly) back in September 2024. Suffice it to say, I get every vaccine I am offered, COVID or otherwise.

My partner is HIV negative... I have told him if/when there is a vaccine for HIV that he should get it -- and he is at zero risk for HIV. He is 58 and has never engaged in high-risk behaviors, but I would still urge him to get it.

==

Here is the real death certificate of my former sister-in-law. She died from COVID complications back in 2021. She was unvaccinated. My maternal aunt also died as a direct result of not being vaccinated for COVID, albeit my aunt was 88.

This certificate (redacted by me for privacy) is a ghoulish reminder that COVID kills and has killed millions. If you believe otherwise, and I will say it to you personally if given the chance, you are utterly misinformed and dangerous.

ojo.            Hello there!… My father was killed by COVID-19 in October 2020, there was no vaccine. A year later or two years later, I can’t remember, my mother got Covid COVID-19, but she was vaccinated and she’s still around. We both got the latest COVID-19 vaccination. In my case, after 30 years of taking medication, one vaccination more doesn’t make any difference. I’m 62 years old and after surviving HIV/AIDS it would be foolish nut getting a COVID-19 vaccination… Hugs

Anti-vaxxers are idiots! That's just scientific fact.

Don't forget the flu, pneumonia, and shingles vax too!

Larry and I had to postpone our covid/flu shots because of his open heart surgery; but as soon as the doctor gave the ok, Jab! Jab!  ;D The last thing I want is Larry croaking from the flu or covid when we worked so hard on not letting him die a few months back. I've had PCP and shingles before and NEVER want that crap again. I always stay up on the vaccinations.

Michael, I have gotten them all! I even opted to get the mpox ones. Sadly the mpox one seems to wear off after about nine months or a year and is apparently no longer covered costwise by some entities here in the US. I was part of the last few in October 2024 to get my two recommended doses "for free," I was told.

https://www.drugs.com/news/mpox-vaccine-s-protection-wanes-within-1-year-boosters-needed-121680.html

I will have to check on the free thing. The Ryan White program covers some things for me in Part C -- I think -- after my work insurance stops. But I was told that were changes made to that program late in 2024, and it sounds like the program isn't as gracious with its money as it had been earlier. That might have been what the nurse was referring to... that the grant wasn't going to cover it in my case after October. Not sure. I waited 28 days between the 2 mpox vaccine doses and missed out on the earlier scarring that apparently occurred when that vaccine was newer and not given subcutaneously?!

https://www.cdc.gov/mpox/vaccines/index.html

Regardless, I am going to try not to rub up against anyone except my partner and our Maltese. My neuropathy makes that easier now, sadly, not to do. Touch sensations have really changed for me since 2021.

Hey Everyone !,

Hope everyone is well, and looking forward to a happy and Healthy New Year.

I had my 73rd birthday few weeks back. And everything is going pretty well. I will start another thread on that later. Just having some low EGFR and borderline creatinine issues.

My primary care thinks its the HIV medications I am on. I don't know about that.

Ed and I have just been very busy lately. My mitral valve is still regurgitating, and the heart is still clacking along.  :) according to my cardiologist, no reason for open heart surgery at this point yet.

But I am wondering if the regurgitation, of the valve could be a cause of low EGFR.  All of this is coming up for discussion very soon. I would rather be retested for the kidneys first, perhaps an ultrasound, before any med changes. I have already tried Bictarvy, and triumeq. Although they both kept me undetectable, I think I was having kidney issues with both of those. I have to go back and check my labs on that.

This has been a year of vaccinations for me.

These are my Covid dates ( I am up to seven)

2/25/21....3/18/21...9/22/21....4/11/22...10/6/22...10/23/23... and 10/28/24(Also Flu)

I also received, my 2 separate doses, of shingles vaccine this year, and went through my 3 vaccinations for HEP A/B ,  all without any problems.

I was saddened to hear about Numbersguy (Alan). Another young life taken. Depression is hell.

I will post more after the New Year. I have an ENT appt. coming up soon. I think I may have to have my tonsils removed ( At 73)  :) I have a consult for that visit, hopefully I won't have to have an endoscopy. But if I need it,..Fine.

Otherwise, I am feeling great, wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

oh...

And these 3 back to back storms or hurricanes this year Debbie, helene, and Milton, was messed up.  Lots of damage on all the beaches, going from Clearwater, down to Pass-a-grille. many business will not reopen. On the mainland (Pinellas County) lot of flooded out and destroyed homes. For sale signs are going up all over the place, but the prices they want are ridiculous. Certainly took mental toll, besides a monetary  toll.
We fortunately had no issues, but our community pool was under two feet of nasty water.

:'( RIP Alan

according to my cardiologist, no reason for open heart surgery at this point yet.
after Larry's surgery I have a much healthier respect for those kinds of issues. I did learn, living there in ICU as Larry recovered those first days, that the people (of all ages) who recovered best were the ones who wanted to recover and worked towards that recovery. ;)

I think I may have to have my tonsils removed ( At 73)  :) I have a consult for that visit, hopefully I won't have to have an endoscopy. But if I need it,..Fine.
at 73?!? LOL well, if you have to, you have to. I'm going to need an endoscopy soonish because it's been a long time since the last one and I keep getting more swallowing issues. ugh.

Otherwise, I am feeling great, wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Glad to hear you and Ed are doing well. :) Stay well and have a great 2025!

In Brief:

Quote
The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) revoked the board certification of Peter McCullough, MD, MPH, a cardiologist who promoted controversial views about COVID-19.

ABIM had previously revoked the board certification of two other doctorsopens in a new tab or window who made controversial claims about COVID-19: Paul Marik, MD, and Pierre Kory, MD. Both previously had certifications in internal medicine and critical care medicine, and Kory additionally held a certification in pulmonary disease.

Early in the pandemic, McCullough supported the use of hydroxychloroquine in patients with mild disease even when mainstream medicine was recommending against it.

But he became more known for being outspoken against the COVID vaccines. He had claimed that there is no scientific reason for healthy people under 50 and those who have recovered from COVID to get the vaccine, and has asserted that tens of thousands of Americans have died from the shots.

McCullough is currently listed as chief science officer of The Wellness Company, the owner of which was recently reported as also investing in an anti-vaccine dating site and launching a coffee brand for "anti-woke" consumers. The Wellness Company sells supplements, one of which is called "Ultimate Spike Detox." It costs $89.99 for 120 capsules.

McCullough holds active medical licenses in Texas and Michigan. The Texas license lists a DWI arrest from October 1984, for which McCullough completed the Dallas County DWI Education Project in June 1985.
