Dear all,

First of all, I would like to say that any insights provided by this community to my current predicament is greatly appreciated!

I am a typical asian chinese male 21 years of age this year. I travelled to Thailand recently for a short holiday. Being young and stupid, i went where probably most young adults would love to go, a nightclub. After downing a couple of drinks, my friend got me a local girl to dance with. We shared a couple of drinks and a few kisses on the lips.

To cut the long story short, she came back with me to my hotel where she persuaded me to give her a sum of money. It was later revealed that she was NOT a CSW and only did so on the advice of a friend, to prevent me from thinking that locals there can be 'bedded' for free in my future visits. Pretty confident that she is not a CSW at this point and had a decent day job.

On to the critical part..

This would never had happened if i were sober, but my resolve of not having sexual contact with her was shattered at her slightest insistence. Being my first time, i was extremely shy and so had all the lights switched off. I could see her capping me with the condom and then proceeded to get on top of me. It actually hurt quite  a bit while she was 'riding' on top with quite a lot of force, not long after, she climaxed and got off. At this point of time, i could see that the condom was still intact, but in my drunken stupor i did not check whether it was broken.

Adding on to my stupidity, I then went to put my finger in her vagina, and also proceeded to have a brief oral intercourse with her. We ended off the encounter with her performing fellatio on me and masturbated me with her hand till i climaxed.
Following that we simply fell asleep till she had to go to work in the morning.

After she left that's when i went absolutely FRANTIC, searching up symptoms of STIs online. Oddly enough, i came down with a bit of irritation in my throat/nasal area, and had green mucous for the next 2 days, but my throat was NEVER sore.
My temperature also increased and decreased as i panicked over the next few days. My groin area hurt when compressed, but that's probably due to the force of the position we adopted(?). I also seemed to feel a slight, intermittent weakness (or i may have imagined it) around my body. But i could walk and move about fine, went out and about Thailand the whole day and the next day following the encounter.

I know this could be due to all the clubbing and drinking prior to the sexual exposure, but the symptoms seem too.. precise(?) to be a coincidence!!
Back in my home country, approximately 2 days after the exposure, went to see a doctor and relayed the same information to him. He mentioned that since it was a protected session the risks are low, and he proceeded to conduct a rapid HIV test with the Oraquick testing kit which turned out negative, however, i've read that these things only work accurately 3months prior to exposure?

Furthermore, now I've realised that I've had minor dental work done on the last tooth of my upper right jaw, which involved flushing of medicine to an exposed nerve to stop infection and had the tooth filled up. It was done approximately 9 days BEFORE the exposure, this could have been a major risk of infection couldn't it?!

In summary, today approximately 4 days after exposure, i've been worrying myself sick at different parts of the day. Sometimes i get panicky and start hitting the webs again, not sure if i feel weak due to the panicking or if i panic because i feel weak? I've seen no physical symptoms on me, such as discharge, pain in testicular area or the penis. But i can't help but feel that there's something wrong inside, like as i'm typing this i think i feel a bit woozy? Or am i just imagining things? This is really driving me insane, i have to return to work tomorrow and i am totally unprepared to do so. I am also worried for my family members, will i risk transmitting diseases to them (if any) at this point of time?

Also to add, i'm not sexually active prior to this latest exposure, it was my first time, and it has totally horrified me. The lady in question is nice enough to keep in contact with me and has assured me that she has been assessed and deemed healthy, but why am i feeling so many weird symptoms... They seem too real to be imaginary at some times..

With this being said, i mean absolutely no disrespect to the lady in question as well.

I agree with the doctor who performed the HIV test-since you and the lady used a condom, the risk was nil.  As far as you putting your finger in her vagina, this is also not a risky activity, nor is oral sex.  You would have to have several open sores in your mouth (what we call "meth mouth"), and her cervical fluid would have to enter into those wounds, which really does not happen during oral.  Saliva has a ton of enzymes in it that protects from that type of transmission of HIV.  The more likely things to be transmitted would be other STI's, including gonorrhea or chlamydia. 

You have learned a valuable lesson here-using condoms correctly and consistently, will prevent you from becoming HIV+, and prevent other STI's.  Where I worked at, we had several people getting condoms to carry with them should an event happen that you described (random).  So please continue that practice.

While it is true that you need to be tested at 6 weeks post exposure, and again at 3 months, you did not have a risk activity for HIV.  If you do decide to get tested in 3 months, I fully expect you to test HIV negative.

If you do decide to become sexually active, you need an annual exam that checks for all STI's.  And you need to continually use condoms for vaginal or anal intercourse until you get into a monogamous relationship, and you both go test together for HIV, and all other STI's, and are determined to be clear. 

So, just get on, and let it be a lesson.   A valuable one.

Thank you for your very reassuring reply. I was going to save my post counts when I've finally tested with conclusive results to be shared here, however, just hours ago I discovered something extremely disturbing.

A quick examination of my mouth I've noticed that the usually white furry pigment on the surface of my tongue has turned pale YELLOWISH, in addition to that, I've discovered the beginnings of an ulcer on the left, slightly underside of my tongue.

A quick scour through the webpages, there seems to be mention of this symptom being a HIV ARS symptom? Or at least some form of std? The discovery of new weird symptoms daily has been driving me to the edge, I can't focus on my daily routine. Really hope to have some form of closure be it a good or bad one.

Can you or even the others in the panel of risk assessors shed some insight on this? Should I be worried like I am now?

To add on, it has been 6 days since my exposure, which included unprotected oral intercourse with the female, fellatio and cunnilingus. Protected vaginal intercourse was also included. 2-3 days post exposure I seemed to have fluctuations in my body temperature, it seemed to be more susceptible to changes in room temperature, e.g. rising when the environment was warmer, dropping when the environment was cooler

This is my 3rd and final free post, unfortunately I am still freaking out. I might have to get a subscription to post after this.

Okay so here goes, on the 7-8 day post exposure I've finally seen and felt something that is EXTREMELY worrying. So I discovered a slight itch on my penis, normally I would have brushed it off, although this time it still feels like a normal itch, I've noticed it itches upon contact or penis skin creases (I'm uncircumcised). So I pull down the skin of my penis, and at the back of the penis near the tip just under the 'mushroom' fold, to my utter horror I saw a white less than 1cm growth. Just one.

This totally freaked me out.

Today, day 9 post exposure. I rushed down to a doctor, and upon visual inspection and application of Verrumal, the doctor said it could be a wart, indicative of HPV. I was scared totally shitless, but the doctor said she couldn't confirm as it was incredibly small. Apart from that my penis looks normal and I've no odd discharges from my penis.

I've read that having genital warts or HPV could significantly increase the probability of one being infected with HIV?

Just to add on, the itching started day 7-8 post exposure, but till this day (day 9), it only itches when it is explicitly touched or when the skin is creased. This is extremely distressing, I can't imagine myself having HIV at this age and letting my family know about this.. I just can't imagine.

What are my chances of infection now?

You have repeatedly been advised that you have not had a risk for HIV and that what ever is going on with your health has nothing to do with HIV . Most sexually active adults will test positive for HPV, its a very common condition . The bottom line is you had protected sex and that was not a risk for HIV .

If this is your only concern and your negative HIV test was 3 months past any possible exposure then its conclusive that you do not have HIV . You did not have a risk in this incident and do not need further testing at this time . .
