DISCUSS

So we've been emailing this morning (a rarity in the first place... but totally civil) and he'd just been to Buenos Aires and said it wasn't a great trip, and that the boys weren't exciting. Then he sent me some pictures of the guys he met (2) and I assumed that they were the same person as they looked quite alike.

Then he called me on the phone and when I said I thought they were the same person he made some flippant remark about how "they all look the same anyway" -- to which I replied "that's a lovely remark... kind of like how all black people look the same" (He's Nigerian)

Oh boy... he went BALLISTIC and turned the entire conversation around on me, when in fact I was pointing out what an assholic comment he had made.

HE HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME... guess I won't be going to visit him in London anytime soon.

My take on it: The sarcasm went right over his head, obviously. Very touchy guy. Maybe some bad experiences. Perhaps those experiences were intense or recent. Truly, not your loss. His loss.

The sad thing is that I felt things with him I never did with any other man. I almost moved to London to get married to him. The relationship, however, was ALWAYS drama filled... and of course he always found a way to blame me for all shenanigans. I have such mixed feelings about him, and I dare say it's taken me YEARS to divorce myself of feelings for him.

I really wish he was not like this.

I had a bad experience with an Argentinian once in Miami. He paid two well known black porn stars to come over and tag team fuck me while he watched.

OK... that part was not bad. But then the Argentinian thought I owed him sex for his doing that... so I packed up my suitcase and spent the last night at a hotel next to the airport. I met this weirdo on teh intranets in the late 90's. Hence why I do not participate in manhunt these days.

No, it has nothing to do with Nigeria. I met him in NYC coming out of a subway entrance. I had no idea he was on vaction, or from London, or Nigerian when we cruised each other. I was more attracted to his shaved head, rough demeanor and his 250 lb. muscular body. He was also incredibly smart and very sweet... at least for a while. Oh, and he wore Helmut Lang too.

I must admit I've seen beautiful people in Nigeria. Men and Women. And I saw a funeral with all those amazing colorful dresses, people dancing, cheering, it was quite an experience. But I digress.

I've found it's better to try to leave ex-boyfriends in the past and try to avoid even the most casual of contact.

Usually, relationships don't end nicely, but we humans have a tendency to suppress the bad and accentuate the good in our memories.

About 10 minutes into talking with my ex-bf on the rare occasion we have talked, I remember every single reason why that relationship was toxic and lasted about 4 years and why I am so happy to be with the guy I have been with for the last 16 years or so.

I've had two other big name porn star fucks too. One was quite nice... I met him when he was go-go dancing and he told me I looked like Brad Pitt (yeah right). hmmm... I'm not sure how to proceed now with him. I'd apologize, but in fact I did nothing wrong.

This guy was really supposed to be The One™ too. I dutifully disclosed to him when we first met (OK... on the 2nd date) and he was totally fine with it even though negative. Living in London he'd already dealt with it and dated some positive guys, two of his best friends were infected etc. When we met one of our discussions was that 3 guys had picked him up in the proceeding days (he's a bit of a whore and can get laid really easy) and each one had wanted to bareback.

So there I was attempting to have a several thousand mile away long-distance relationship (folly!) and wouldn't you know it was the EXACT same time I started having HIV issues... treatment failure, wasting, beginning of lipo etc. He had little clue what I was starting to deal with as to him I looked like I was really healthy and doing well. He told me to stop being overly dramatic with my health as it would only make things worse in my head... which CAN be true but it really wasn't in this instance. Once I started to see a therapist was the beginning of the end for the two of us -- he accused me of airing our personal affairs with a 3rd party, etc. and claimed all Americans went to shrinks at the drop of a hat. You see... there was this entire cultural disparity between the two us too. He grew up in Lagos until his 20's and though his family was middle class there he certainly saw what real human misery is. Whatever, I grew up in a country club and I can't help that fact nor do I feel guilty about it. Of course, he spent as much at Harvey Nichols as I did and made me routinely bring him +$100 of cosmetics from a particular boutique in Manhattan every visit so it's not like he was some deprived 3rd world citizen.

ugh... he's so infuriating. It's crap like this that is the reason I stay single. I can't deal with the dram in relationships, and all of mine have been somewhat like this. I think I attract these types of characters... and of course I'm not a walk in the park myself this I realize.
