Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Trusting my test

After 5 hiv test after 3 months after the encounter still having hiv like symptoms and just haven't been feeling well.  I will not even get into symptoms because others say symptoms does't mean much. I am concern that the hiv test didn't pick up some other type of strain or group of HIV like group N or O.  As far as I know the test that was performed were HIV 1&2.  I did use a nonoxyl 9 condom did mout and breast kising. Will the hiv test that I took pick up HIV N & O? What are the pros and cons about these type of condoms? Was I safe with this type of condom? Thanks for all your help.

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.

You didn't have a risk for HIV transmission so it's no surprise that you have repeatedly tested negative for HIV. Sucking at a breast is risky for an infant of six months or under. It's not risky for an adult.

If you hare not feeling well and have troubling symptoms that's something to talk about with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV although  you are mistakenly assuming they do.

Lets say theoretically that I could have gotten infected that way. Would the type of test that I took pick up the N and O subtype or groups of hiv? Nothing is 100% proof.

You didn't have a risk of N and O. YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK OF CONTRACTING HIV.

Spade, no, let's NOT say theoretically you could have gotten infected that way. We're not interested in playing the theoretical game.

You didn't have a risk which is really the bottom line here. 

Instead of looking for problems grounded in your HIV fears and your lack of knowledge, why don't you talk with your doctor and find out what is REALLY causing your symptoms?
