« on: March 10, 2007, 01:34:44 pm »
Set the clocks forward tonight, bitches.  Oh yes.

With the exception of those who live in states and provinces where it is observed, of course.

I love it when this happens... no more crippling depression!  No more early sunsets!  No more stupid thoughts of winter!

Huzzah!

We all will.

Small price to pay for late light though, in my opinion...

Hell, I sleep way over 8 hours, so I won't be losing much. I think most of my clocks reset themselves except for the microwave....

Honestly, I just wish we stayed in Daylight Savings all year around.  The most depressing week of the year is when we revert to standard time in the Fall.

Yeah, to the mania of spring/summer and burning the candle at both ends!   :)

I HATE DST!!!

I want it to be dark when I go to bed.  And the real bitch is that if they change the fall-back time, not only will it not be dark for trick-or-treating on Hallowe'en, we won't get that extra hour to drink at the bar on Saturday before Hallowe'en! ??? >:( ;D

Do you also suffer from SAD Aupoint. I hate bad weather. That is why I could not live in Berkeley for college. I need the sun. Cloudy weather really gets me down.

I wouldn't say that I suffer from SAD... but I do get more withdrawn and nasty during the winter months.  It's nothing crippling... probably just the winter blahs.

In spring and summer, I'm quite energetic and get out of the house at every available opportunity...

Although, I love seasonal changes... I think I appreciate the nice weather more when we've had a few months of crap to judge it by.

I just wish we could LEAVE it one way all the time.   The changing drives me (and my confused old body) nuts.  ???

Definittely one of the better points of Los Angeles is the weather. Today it was in the 80's. Feels like spring already. But we have days like those in the winter.

I was glad that this time has come.  This is actually only the second time my state has actually observed daylight savings time, so it's thrown some people.  It made my job very stressful last night--nurses were ordering timed cardiacs one hour off than they should have been (evidently taking into account that we switched one hour ahead was too difficult for them to grasp) and the computers were going crazy (after all those downtimes that supposedly "fixed" the problem)--we had to switch the lab program to atlantic time until they figure out how to get the time to change right.  But I am so happy about this almost being spring.

This little change in daylight savings time is costing lots of companies a boat load of money.  It's also making our field engineers work all damned weekend.  Lots of medical equipment is PC based these days, while Billy Gates did release a patch to fix this mess you can't just plop it down on a medical device.   No...the FDA must approve it!  Once approved... 3 days before the damn change... It must somehow be installed on every device in the country or effected countries.

They even tried to get me back out into the field driving from hospital to hospital changing time and installing patches.
If you had an X-ray, CT, MR, or PET scan this weekend, chances are it took longer than usual.  Here's why..  the clock has to be right or the documents aren't legal.  Someone had to run around changing all the clocks and the techs can't do it.

When I was in Iceland last summer in this very northern part I went to (Akureyri) the sun didn't set at all.  I can only imagine winter.
