HIV2 Window Period

Good morning - first time poster here.  I had a potential exposure with a CSW in early July.  It included unprotected received oral, unprotected private to private massage with no insertion, and the woman "squirted" on my scrotum and groin area.  She also put a vibrating ring around me that also lodged between my butt cheeks.  Roughly 4 days later my eyes became irritated with a lot of water and I noticed my rectum area feeling strange, kind of like I had discharge as my cheeks were sticking together.  2 days after that I developed a painful rash on my scrotum and groin area.  I also started experiencing tingling and burning sensations in my feet and hands with spells of dizziness and balance issues.  I went to the ER 10 days after exposure the the ER doctor diagnosed me with Cellulitis.  The Urologist said it was a fungal infection.  They treated me with IV antibiotics overnight and discharged me without addressing the peripheral issues.  Post discharge I was still experiencing the peripheral pain and dizziness, nausea and weight loss (about 10 lbs).  I tested 4th generation negative at 31 days.  I donated blood on day 41 and HIV tests were clear (included HIV1/2 AB and HIV 1NAT.  I was hospitalized on day 53 for the peripheral issues.  They ran extensive tests, including another 4th gen test which was negative.  On Dav 55, in the hospital, I asked for an HIV RNA Quantitative test which came back undetected.  The doctors ultimately determined that excessive alcohol consumption was causing the neuropathy.

My concern here is HIV2.  While I understand that this type is very rare in the US, this woman told me that she frequents an erotic swinger resort in the Caribbean.  My question here is the window period relative to HIV2.  Is 53 days ample time to develop antibodies as the 4th gen does not detect the HIV2 antigen?

No HIV risk to you whatsoever.

Receiving oral sex isn't an HIV risk to you. It lacks the conditions required for acquiring HIV. Thus it makes sense that after 40+ years of this pandemic in terms of oral sex, there hasn't been a single documented case of HIV transmission to an insertive partner (the person being "sucked"), and you will not be the world's first.

The same and more could be said about the massage, ring and squirting.

Irrelevant as it's not an STI/HIV screening service or with the same notification standards.

You had no HIV risk from the events posted here.

Yes, six weeks a blood-draw lab HIV antibodies test is reliable and a non-reactive result will rarely ever change and retesting generally isn't needed.

However, it's irrelevant because what you posted wasn't an HIV risk, and I am unwilling to pretend it was or that testing was needed. I hope you feel better soon and wish you all the best with managing your Alcoholic Neuropathy.

Here's what you need to know to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms, and the only way of knowing is by testing.

Thank you Jim.  I guess my concern here is her fluid and/or dirty vibrating ring somehow penetrated my rectum given the symptoms and more specifically, HIV2 window period.  I understand anxiety is driving a lot of this.  I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance

The fluids neither the ring are an HIV issue. The symptoms have nothing to do with HIV and I wish you all the best
