Valproic Acid - Other Benefits?

Valproic acid has been studied as a means to flush out latent HIV.

It seems researchers have discovered that valproic acid seems to unlock the "juvenile" brain's learning capacity.  I just heard a blurp on NPR where the research scientist stated they had successfully taught perfect pitch to adult men who were healthy and took the drug.  None of the men had any exposure to musical training. 

So maybe I can flush out my HIV and learn to play keyboards by ear at the same time.

Look up valproic acid or HDAC inhibitors with HIV in the clinicaltrials.gov database.

All HIV trials using it have failed to make a difference.

Some researchers are investigating other HDAC inhibitors for HIV.

However, I wouldn't hold my breath for this drug class. Just my opinion.
