Florida ADAP Formulary

My doctor told me that Florida put off their changes to the FL ADAP formulary (removal off all drugs that arent for hiv or oportunistic infections) until Oct 1. Orginal change date was Aug 1st. Anyone else hear this b/c I get Andro Gel and Acycolvir also thru ADAP but wont anymore once they change the formulary. And unfortunately everytime I called over to the ADAP office to try and confirm this.... this past thurs and friday no one answered the phone.

A simple Google search returned this:

Wanda Tomlinson, insurance/pharmacy coordinator for Hope & Help of Central Florida, said a list of drugs are expressly excluded. Sounds like your Androgel will not be included.

That is old info. The extension, according to my doctor was decided on just a few days ago so you wouldnt find it on a google search or on the FL DOH website yet. (they take forever updating their site).... I guess the best thing to do is just go over to the adap office monday instead of calling and find out.

The drugs are still being taken off the formulary August 1 however they will continue being available to clients as supply allows until September 1. There, is no guarantee all drugs will be available in the quantity desired for the 67 counties, but only as supply allows.  This was meant to assist clients as they proceed to apply for patient assistance programs to cover those drugs.  Hope that helps.
