Title: Thailand and prescription
Post by: smilinglotus on April 15, 2010, 03:35:29 pm
Hi everyone,

Am wondering if anyone can give me information with regards to how I go about getting prescription for Truvada and Stocrin in Bangkok.  Currently I reside in Toronto and I am planning to have an extended stay in Thailand.  I am currently on Atripla which is not available in Thailand, so I'll have to get Truvada and Stocrin.  I have read through some posting here that says one can purchase the drugs at Bangkok General or Bumrungrad.

The question is, do I need a Thai doctor's prescription to be able to buy these medication?  My ID doctor in Toronto will have a letter prepared for me to bring with me with regards to my need for these medication.  Is that enough for the hospital to sell me the medications?  Or would I still need to see an ID doctor in Thailand to get the prescription?

If any of you have any information, I would appreciate your assistance in this matter. Thank you very much.

Pat
